Source: SauberF1 Website.Towards the end of the session we did a few installation laps. On the last one the tyres lost a lot of temperature, it caught me by surprise when I accelerated out of the corner, shifting up from third to fourth on a straight line, and suddenly the car snapped and I went off.
The last few seasons, it seems like the general impressions from observers at the track have been better indicators of performance than the times themselves. So this is good to hear, especially on only the second day of running.I have to say, the McLaren is looking by some margin the best balanced car. Having spent the day walking the circuit, whether in the hands of world champion Jenson Button or rookie Kevin Magnusson, the MP4-29 was cornering as though it was on rails.
wow, williams looks promising! felipe baby!zoro_f1 wrote:http://s30.postimg.org/rqvojwk6p/Capture.jpg
said the same, they were getting hard time when they announced not to be there but who's the fool now?Ferraripilot wrote:I'm sure this is why Lotus didn't bother showing for the first test, they expected teething issues? This first test has been just about a wash for all Renault teams.
If that is the case, maybe they should skip all the tests and just show up in Oz! They can incorporate all the developments without the trouble of actually running the car!Manoah2u wrote:nobody was talking about upsides. it's about the suggested amount of 'loss' that lotus would have compared to the rest of the field, which, unfortunately for the rest of the renault-powered engines, has been greatly reduced.
lotus will have clearly seen the packaging of the toro rosso and redbull, so if they figure cooling is an issue, then they can bring more attention there without even having run here.
redbull didnt even run more then 3 laps! and they're gone, home! if lotus appears at the test in Bahrain, they only need to do 3 more laps then redbull to compare their loss!
Last year they needed only 45min. to change it!andrewf1 wrote:AMuS reports that the longer absence on track today around noon was due to a gearbox problem, which took around 2 hours to be replaced.
