I think we should consider ourselves lucky Merc crapped the bed today. Have a feeling we might have even gone backwards with the car.
According to FP you might have a good point!

It will be very interesting to see what happens in Qualy if it’s dry..

On one hand Charles does very well with this difficult car but 0.7 gap to McLaren
The gap appears larger because it’s a longer track… if it was 9 km. It will probably be over a second

In Leclerc's own words "it's a long track but 7 tenths gap is more than we expected"

“Ferrari has completely canceled a new floor update that was planned for the Azerbaijan GP and had already been tested through CFD and wind tunnel simulations.”

Found this through the social media feeds. Cannot see it being reported anywhere else so probably baseless, but if true, a bit of a waste of time if that could’ve been utilised for 2026…

Anyone knows what caused Hamilton's spin?

Are you sure? On the team they mentioned a brake issue. Is there any report regarding the problem? Last time this happened to Hamilton was back in 2014 and it was an issue on the car.

I can already predict Leclerc's post race comment: "It was pretty lonely for me out there, we had good pace but not enough to challenge at the front, honestly I was just trying not to fall asleep"

Unless something silly happens…4th and 5th is the best we can hope for. And qualifying mishap and you’re just stuck. Take away all the position increases because of Gasly…only four positional increases in that entire race

At least the direction the team needs to go with setup for the GP seems obvious.

Nice on the brakes there on lap 1 from LEC but other than that the car is confirmed to be a bit on the trash side

Hope the last couple of laps it was more of Leclerc just cruising through and not tires becoming spent. Car neither has the pace nor tire life if it is the latter.

Don't know if they can improve for the rest of the weekend. But at least don't get caught in any DRS train. No escaping that.

Prior to this “upgrade” the car seemed decent on long runs, especially in LEC’s hands, so let’s see if they managed to delete this characteristic as well.

It will take at least a few races to get a clear picture.

Following the trend from last year, Spa is turning into a difficult track to overtake. I hope the team qualifies better, otherwise we are in for a difficult afternoon if the race is dry.

Are they allowed to make changes to the cars now before qualifying?
