We've done nothing but clutch at straws. It's fascinating, but hidden from us so we're left to speculate. We try to be rigorous, we try to be realistic, and we've been lucky to be in the ballpark in our guesses. But I like to believe we've done little more than give them something to think about.

We're not the one's sacrificing part of our holidays putting in all nighters to get everything done for next season. We can only encourage them, and have faith. [-o<

Apparently the Ferrari power unit will have 1,000 HP for 2017.

In that video @ ~:49 we see what looks like 435lb ft of tq @ 11,3xx rpm, that's right around 1,000hp. I guess everyone is going to be close to that number next year despite the denials.

That video looks like it's a good year or so old though.

All the more reason it's believable that they'll be at ~1,000hp next season

Why?
It was supposed to be taken after the season.

It's more like 935-940 HP.

That's an older article, interesting he mentions 2016 as a long test session for 2017.

I actually think its funny that already every PU has already maxed out the ers and sent virtually all r&d straight back onto the ICE.

He's given standard responses that we've come to expect from Hasegawa and Honda at this stage of the program. Very polite but he isn't giving away anything. Interesting to note how he phrases Pre-Chamber as a key element, but what Honda will use is classified.. That could be something.

Given the very public development of Honda over the last few years in F1, it isn't surprising at all that they are being extremely quiet for this next season and I don't expect to hear any real "PU news" until the first tests and it's likely that we won't have a clue about parity until the Australian GP.

I mean if Hasegawa implied even slightly, in any interview after Abu Dhabi, that the 2017 PU "looked promising", the media would translate that into "2017 Honda PU to be Dark Horse and knock off Mercedes???" Then a tirade of expectations would follow.
