does anyone know what they mean by "local load" ? I mean the sidepods and the diffuser do have an influence in the air flow guided into the rear end of the car so I do not know why is it called local load.

do you think those upgrade are only for the Austin GP ?

Thanks in advance !
Local load is just a general term that could be used for most any aero part. It allows the team to answer the “primary reason for the update” without giving anything away specifically about what the part is actually doing.

If upgrades work teams tend to keep the upgrade on the car or continue to add complexity to it. If the new parts don’t work, they typically adjust or remove the part. Nothing really ever stands still in F1. It’s a question ultimately of aero correlation. Does the car align to the pressure and flow values they have at the factory with the values they observe running on an actual track. It’s a constant struggle all teams juggle.

This formula of Bernoulli based cars seems to be quite a bit more tricky and elusive to get right than the flat bottomed cars they used for many years. Even Red Bull this year, who started as seemingly masters of the formula, are now struggling with the very same car that was dominating just a few months ago.
Watching F1 since 1986.

Anyone who followed FP1 know if the car felt to be an improvement?

Car looks more stable in general, and My godness, the new front wing flex like a hell, similiar to the 2023 Bahrain Front wing.

STR aborted his flyer already in S1. His time came later.
I believe ALO ran the new sidepods. But it’s difficult to say, atleast for me, who ran with which package.

Still very early but so far the only F1.5 car just barely ahead of Alonso is Magnussen with a lap done 5 minutes later with track improvement. Long runs not sure.

Not sure, and sadly I don't have any footage, but in his FP1 fast lap Alonso might have locked up in turn 1 and lost 2.5-3 tenths. If this is true upgrades have worked massively

I just watched the onboard replay of his lap in F1TV, didn't see any lock-up.

That's a shame. He lost 3.5 tenths to Sainz in Turn 1 and according to telemetry he had braked, then lifted and braked again. So that's why I thought that. Still there should be some laptime to gain in Turn 1
