Idk in his Renault days in 05 and 06, whenever Alonso couldn't deliver for whatever reason, we magically found his team mate at the sharp end of the grid bagging wins n poles, whereas before he'd be 3-6 tenths off Alonso's pace. With all the money he brings he better look good or he'd be a bad investment, sure he's fast but I don't think he's miles ahead of Massa as we've been led to believe. If anything it's this realization that would be mentally taxing to Fernando more than having the WDC go to the wire.

IMO there is a bit of it being Alonso falling back because of the mental toll on him. And after the season he's pulled out of the bag, who could blame him? He's driven darn well this year - and I can fully imagine that that would be a rather taxing thing to be doing, especially mentally.
I don't really think 'mental' strength is what is separating the two: look how well Massa has come back, after all the bashing he received at the start of the season?

Massa is a whole lot quicker than most have been led to believe throughout the start of the season. His only problem is, showing strong form at the start of the season.

Mental toll? I'd doubt it. Massa is gaining on Alonso rather than Alonso falling back to Massa's place. Alonso is still getting podiums. I don't think he's capable of cracking under pressure either to be honest.

Perez just confirmed that Gutierrez will replace him at Sauber. Is this the end of the road for Kobayashi?

Maybe i´m reading it wrong but it says Perez is replaced by Gutierrez, not Kobayashi.

Unless you know who´s taking the other seat?

Pretty sure Heikki will be out of Caterham next season unless they can finish the season ahead of Marussia or if he can bring in some financial backer.

2) Ferrari - Massa, Alonso
3) Mclaren - Perez, Button
4) Lotus - Raikkonen, ???????
5) Merc - Rosberg, Hamilton
6) Sauber - Hulkenberg, Gutierrez
7) Williams - ??????, ??????
8.) Force India - Di Resta, ??????
9) Toro Roso - Ricciardo, Vergne
10) Caterham - ???? ?????
11) Marussia - ????? ?????
12) (HRT) ???

I was under the impression that Williams was as near as damn it certain to be Maldonado + Bottas? Also, given that HRT are handing out redundancy notices on the door, I don't really think that's likely.

I can see Senna at Caterham. I sincerely believe he is the most underrated driver out there right now. He's very consistent, having scored on twice as many occasions as Maldonado. He doesn't get into trouble on track like Maldonado does, and if he improved his qualifying, he could have been in the top five a couple of times this year.

If he can bring in some financial backer, i am sure he will have a good chance at Caterham

I think so too. I read in the F1 racing mag that Hugo Chavez gave Sir Frank William a kiss on this forehead when they did a road show in Venezuela recently.

FIndia haven't announced any 2013 contracts yet. If Di Resta has a contract, we don't know about it yet.

With Kamui as a free agent, I hope he gets picked up to join the Toyota LMP team.
