Sometimes Darth Piekus overreacts with Mclaren and Lady luck, but this year he is totally correct. These things can't happen. We "skip" races that suit us and whenever a Ferrari is high at qualifying someone crushes. Anyway.. does this track doesn't offer any chance for overtaking?

And some people keep dreaming that Ferrari has the same luck as Mclaren. Hopefully after badluck number 3 in a row some opinions can change.
If Lando had the speed on his first run it would not have been an issue! You need to stop the repetitive nonsense every week of bad luck - this is motorsport it’s happened for decades. Move on.

Not sure if you can pass here. This GP is an old circuit made for the F1's of the 60's and 70's who were smaller. Prost was unable to pass Lauda at 1985 despite him being faster.

Let’s see how Daniel finishes… There is still a long race tomorrow and even though is very hard to overtake in this track, based on what we’ve seeing so far, there will most probably be Safety Cars and potential Red Flags during tomorrow race and we’ve seeing how those can play out and shake things up… Free tire choice for Lando (not that it could be a great thing for Lando), but always better to start the Race on Mediums for a long first stint… Based on what the “pundits” seem to think, starting on Softs may imply a 2 stopper (although, there is a less of a penalty because of how short the pit lane is)

yeah i dont think you can blame luck - for whatever reason, he was pretty slow all qualifying - really strange seeing as how well Ricciardo went

When the Ferrari's need to take their inevitable engine penalties Mclaren (provided they dont have penalties themselves sometime in the season) need to have a really good weekend.

We’re gonna need a Daniel Ricciardo Masterclass to salvage this qualifying session.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Exactly… McLaren (Lando) put themselves in this position with a poor first run in Q2… Compared to Daniel that did the better job and put the car in a position where a crash or other events didn’t affect him

Overtaking likely will be in the pits and strategy, yellow/red flags will be decisive.

Exactly mate, well said! All the teams and drivers knew the risk of not getting a banker on the board, could lead to this scenario of being out in Q2!

Agreed, it's tough starting from this position tomorrow, but I would not blame it on luck.

Oh well I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Onwards to Q3. Let's see what Daniel can do.

Another lesson today for Lando: do your job on the first stint and this --- that Wulliams's did will not affect you!
And is not first time when this is happening to Lando. There were races when he did first sting in used softs to keep new for second and second never came.
Good job for Ricci again!

He did have used softs on the first run.
