In this article they say that Marko expects Verstappen to be in the mix at every circuit where McLarens medium speed advantage isn’t an over-riding factor:Emag wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 21:02They would be foolish to ignore it. The Monza upgrade was clearly a big step up. Max didn’t just win the race, he was significantly faster than the nearest followers. I kind of expected the same to happen in Baku but with McLaren being closer.
The real test will be Singapore though. If Max eats them up there then yeah, they will be at a risk of losin the wdc to him.

Realistically, he (Max) wont be able to win the wdc as things stand right now, but mathematically he can if he wins everything. And Max isn’t one you give second chances, he will deliver if the car allows him to.CjC wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 22:26In this article they say that Marko expects Verstappen to be in the mix at every circuit where McLarens medium speed advantage isn’t an over-riding factor:Emag wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 21:02They would be foolish to ignore it. That tire set wasn’t a true “used” set. It was an outlap and 1 sector when PIA crashed.
If Max wins 9 races in a row for the title, its deserved, but they wouldnt be talk of McLaren throwing it away, because to do that the Red Bull would have to be ahead on every type of track.Emag wrote: ↑20 Sep 2025, 23:25Realistically, he (Max) wont be able to win the wdc as things stand right now, but mathematically he can if he wins everything. I dont think McLaren go winless on the remaining season though, even if we assume RedBull got their mojo back.
But it still wasn't in the same condition as those that could use new tyres. Though im guessing 2 outlaps aswell.
Norris had a few factors going against him on his last run, even the ol’ mighty Verstappen said he didn’t want to go out first with those track conditions because he has nothing to loose.
You could imagine the tyre was a tenth and a half down. But everything that happened after was judgement and skills. They had no less grip than a medium though later in lap the tyre could overheat and slide if not managed.
