Shall I know what happen to alonso. He is slow compared to ocon. Ocon is doing good
Ocon was faster its simple as last year but Fernando is just 1 tenh behind so it was realy tight
Alonso was faster if you add up all his best 3 sectors but couldn't put it together over one lap.

qualy sectors
Ocon s1 : 32.566
Alonso s1 : 32.614
Ocon s2 : 28.589
Alonso s2 : 28.581
Ocon s3 : 27.913
Alonso s3 : 27.842
So fernando slower in s1 and faster than ocon in s2 and s3 but its just 1 tenth in the end between them

i don't remember another Q3 where used soft tires had the ability to produce better times than new soft tires. Probably it happened some year at Monaco or something, but i don't remember. For some drivers today used softs where actually better and faster than new softs. Ocons best time was also on used tires in Q3 (as shown by f1 live timing app) Alonso had 2 runs with new tires and didn't work out the best way for him.

i hate the way pirelli tyres work.
they are really weird a lot of GP and there is no consistency.

Remember they dropped the tire blanket temps this year. Plus they're limiting the use of brakes to warm tires.

Alonso should have started 5th, looks like new tires did not work, same thing sainz complained about in interview post qualifying. Hope alonso gets a decent start if tyre deg is under control he might finish 5th but i feel safety car is almost a gurantee here.

5 and 6 would be the best possible for them.

It is what they are supposed to do in 2022 in my opinion, to show real progress

Let’s see, I think this race will be animated

yes, that temp limit could be very important.

I hope Alpine and Mercedes close the gap from 0.7-9s to a maximun of 0.4-5. It coud give us a championship a little bit like 2012.

That would be great. 2012 season (first 7 races, 7 different winners) was exceptional, something I always wanted to see in f1. 8)
