Tempted to put Ferrari 4th atm. Did we see Leclerc do any C3 stints on lower fuel?
Please, it’s the first day of testing. Nobody can, with any sort of confidence, really tell who is 1st or who is 4th.
Watching and analysing is kind of pointless if we are not going to read into any of it. There's enough data to start speculating, no one is saying these opinions are definitive.
Speculating is fine, I am not against it, just trying to tone down “disappointments”. It’s way too early to call anything right now.

I really hope it doesnt rain tomorrow though.

Can't tell too much because Ferrari ran a different program than other teams, however the times look decent.

Last year during the race: Max stint 1 was on average 1.37.1, stint 3 started with a good 1.34.1 and then went degrading kinda quick to 1.34.4 in a few laps, then I think he chilled a bit. So the difference between stint 1 and stint 3 is around 3 seconds. Stint 2 was in the 1.35s.

LEC I think did a bunch of Stint 1s in low 1.36s for 18-20 laps (Max pit on lap 16 in the race). Max last stint sim was in 1.32.9s, so that puts Ferrari close.

Cars overall look 1s faster per lap at least in race trim, probably more in quali trim, I wouldn't be surprised to see 1.28s as best times in quali.

We have seen that even in-season things can look very different from one free practice to another.
With that in mind and the fact that it's preseason day one, I think that while one can speculate, that speculation could very easily be a million miles off the mark.

I would say that speculation based on all 3 test days is the only speculation that is likely close to reality.

Regarding the garage images posted above, I could just as easily grab still frames from the garage footage that look very different to the ones above...

Not going to comment on the times... I get that there's only so much to discuss and everything is speculation ultimately, but pointing out specific lap times compared to other teams is ridiculous. Ferrari was doing a different program from the others.

Car balance in the afternoon looked solid, a nice jump from the morning session. Only thing that looked noticeably difficult to me was the sliding mid-corner. Not sure if that is just the car, set up, fuel, whatever. We'll see I guess.

Good day overall. Leclerc was happy near the end of the session despite the pics posted above. Hopefully that's a good sign.

Dont know what we're supposed to get from this. This is some lowish-to-medium level of fuel running which means nothing. That is in no world actual race simulation pace unless Mclaren have found like three+ seconds of laptime since the end of last season. :/

So I thought these sorts of posts were just joking initially, but apparently going by the response I got in the testing thread, many of y'all actually seriously believe you can read competitiveness into these photos and whatnot?

Clearly every other team gained 3 seconds over Ferrari over the break...

Comments from Leclerc
It’s great to be back on track. The whole team has put in a lot of effort, so it’s exciting to finally be able to push the car. It’s always good to have a quiet session, without any nasty surprises disrupting the schedule.

It is too early to draw conclusions about our performance. We will evaluate today's data and use the lessons from tonight when we start work again tomorrow.
Clearly there isn't much to say
