It might not have even been a moment, just a usual exit throttle rotation.

Him and Pastor need to do some kind of exorcism for bad luck demons.
He lost it multiple times today which resulted in him not finishing, there was by my counting 3 spins/excursions. He is driving like a rookie at the moment.

Did anyone notice btw that Kimi, as last time, had a good enough opportunity to have an ice cream? Though I am not sure whether he had one. :D

people who were talking about kimi's speed have their tail between their legs i suppose. he is driving pretty well within himself but still scoring points, thats' pretty good for a F1 returnee, comparing the great schumi comeback, he doing way better i suppose

If you watched him in GP2 - it's obvious that he's like an on-off switch. Brilliant at times, rookie mistakes at other times.

A lot like his time in Formula 1. He did look fast at times even against Alonso, but the mistakes were there for all to see. No one really changes.

People DO change... I wouldn't go as far as saying he won't change, but I will say he hasn't.

I remember Valencia last year in GP2. He was amazingly dominant in one of the races, until he plowed into someone at the start in the other race (there are 2 GP2 races per GP2 weekend for those who don't know)

Fastest lap of the race for Räikkönen. looks like he hasn't changed to much,
I seem to recall he liked to collect those in his last stint in F1

There is a difference
Kimi never stopped racing he was racing some beasts in WRC for 2 years
Schumy was just sitting in his Swiss mansion for 3 yrs and 1 or 2 f1 tests in 2007 thats it!

At the time this thread was started my thought was "I'll be really surprised if someone could embarrass Kimi. :D

I see that this thread has been revived. Again, my decision stands i.e. Raikkonen is way better than Grosjean. In Msia, Grosjean went off after 3 laps... I mean everyone is in the SAME difficult situation but obviously he could not handle it has well as others.

Moreover, in the post race interview, Raikkonen reveal that he was completely new to the inter and wet tires. So he did not "push hard".
Unlike Schumacher who has taken 2+ years to get up to speed, Raikkonen is already on top of his game. Grosjean is gonna be pummeled into fine dust (psychologically).

I'm sure all F1 drivers and racer wannabe would love to collect this record as well as others good records. However, everyone wants it but few can actually do it. Kimi is one of them. Hakkinen and Montoya as well.

I think most people start going to cruise and collect mode in the last 1 or 2 laps. They don't set themselves up for a quali-style fast lap run

Just goes to show Kimi is loaded with confidence. Or he only knows how to go fast, nothing else.

To be fair Schumacher was actually racing motorbikes and doing a fair bit of karting if I remember correctly.

He also did a test in 2009 if I remember well but his neck still hurted him.
Anyway, it took him nearly 2 seasons to came back to correct level: it is something like 30000 or 40000 km. 8000 laps...
ringo wrote:The thread is still fresh for debate though, as in most cases grosjean does seem to have the raw pace.
His race ability isn't in question either as we haven't seen him get good enough race time.
I think in a dry race with 10 laps gone and the field stretched a bit, Grosjean will outpace kimi.
Grosjean was already outpaced on qualifying by Raikkonen on the 2nd GP, and was going to be in Australia - but Kimi made a mistake and don't have enough time to do another lap because of a helmet change... Plus Grosjean knows the tyres, especially the wet ones (pirelli test driver remember?)

Honestly I don't know how you can say that Grosjean would outpace Kimi while only thing he'd shown since now is that he's slower and still unable to think after 3 GP2 season and its 2nd F1 chance... Contact with Schumacher was the german fault? Come on, Romain...
