Probably the biggest design departure from the norm we've seen recently, perhaps hoping to claw back everything lost from the floor changes. Looks like they're gambling hard on this year and hoping everyone else is working towards 2022.

Did they utilize the extra cooling inlet below the roll hoop intake last year as well?? If so that is a detail I completely missed

Wow. First I noticed it was on the McLaren last year I can't believe it's been going on this long, their livery does very well to hide it. If they've stuck with it that long it's clearly working, when I saw it on the McLaren last year I thought maybe the driver's head would hamper airflow too much

Livery chat in the team thread or in dedicated threads, thanks.
A few posts are moved to the team thread.

We ask people to stick to hardware in the car threads, things one could in principle touch. Otherwise we'll end up with a marathon sized mash of car, team and pace in every thread, peppered with other teams for good measure.

Keep the car threads for talk of what is on the cars and affects performance, thank you.

Renault Engine boss, says the "will" switch to split turbo design in the future.
Maybe giant airbox has something to do whit that? Maybe they already did, or they couldnt have this year due to token limitation?

First A521 pictures. Difficult to see how far they go with revised sidepods. Seems slimmer on lower area to increase channel.

Alpine has revised the rear suspension on the A531.

Another pic of the different division on the roll hoop intake.

Its likely renault has switched cooling arrangements to gain back whats been lost on the floor, and moved some cooling element high into the back of the airbox. Unlikely split turbo at this stage, but trying something new to gain something with tge regulations. The engine is an Evo from last year.. better cooling might sllow them to fix the engine in a higher spec for Quali and race. Rear suspension update is the current Fad..

False. Remi Taffin said, "We could be going down that route….I'm pretty sure you've seen some photos, so I'm not going to lie. We are evaluating." This means that it's likely but not a surety. Don't spread intentionally fake stuff or things you know are taken out of context.

It’s not ‘fake stuff’, Remi even goes into detail how they plan to introduce it for 2022 here..
“We had in mind that we would have another evolution in 2023 and we could get the best out of the new baseline we had in 2022 – which is now not the case anymore, because we haven’t got 2023,” Taffin confirmed.

“But actually we’re quite happy, we can have a big push for 2022. We are trying even pushing further forward some of the evolution we had in 2023 into 2022.

“It has been a different game, but I think that’s not a bad decision.”
