Hmm i didn't expect that. Last 2 times the flexible front wings have come up they've been shut down by directives.. new precedent :D

Fear the RB flex lol, i believe in 1-2 races they will have their updated wings and then we will be hear from Horner the famous Alison words "How we have been so stupid" and they will gain 0.3-0.5 in laptimes.

Of course this will not last long no matter what FIA says now, RB is not MB :)

Weirdly enough Red Bull has moved the adjusters inboard for this weekend.

They've run at times with inboard and times outboard. Verstappen has mentioned a "test" wing on the radio. Maybe early/preparatory work on their flexiwing

In qualy Perez was using inboard, i think i spotted that when that nose camera (the one we always use to display flex) of his car was shown.
Let's pay attention during the race.

They've been inboard multiple times this year.

The adjusters have been inboard for all races this year, on both cars, except for Perez' car in Montreal

Look at this comparison, no need to go any further than the first braking point into turn one:

Yep, I think that would be right too if in a grey area they though RB (any dominate team) was exploiting they'd modifiy the rules , Merc in recent years. RB with flexi wings and blown diffusers during their previous dominate years etc.I think it was as much of RB seeking clarity before they sunk resources into their design too as it was about getting them banned. Even yee old TD39? was though to hurt RB but it backfired hard.

Anyone know where the 100kg weight is placed on the wing? Because looking at the amount of movement that wing has in any condition, I even wonder how on earth it can even pass a 100kg weight test, those upper flaps look like a butterfly's wing, even mid corner. A small touch of any kerb makes them vibrate and move quite a lot...

The FIA sees no need to intervene in Formula 1's latest flexi-wing intrigue
But despite wings notably being seen to flex from onboard camera footage, it is understood that the FIA is comfortable with the designs that teams have employed and it is not planning to probe matters for now.

I called it. Merc has FIA by the balls. Their drivers dont get any penalties and they are never asked to revise or drop a development, no mtter how blatantly against the rules it is. I was curious why Ben Sulayem's 20 year old posts on personal website were being dug up by the media and made a huge issue out of when Helmut was going full "superior race" on Perez just last year. Then when the news about him stepping in to stop the AM penalty in Saudi last year came out, it made perfect sense. He probably doesnt play ball with them and they want to get him out.
