Fair question. I do think he should have kept recognition for the pole lap.

The time happened and was legal so it won't go anywhere. The pole was penalised away, so he will not be counted as having scored it..
Well the 1.14.7 was illegal the 1.14.9 was legal though. So he still had the fastest pole lap. He lost pole position due to a grid penalty. But he still had the fastest pole lap.
No, he is not the pole sitter. No recognition in the records. He still is a 1 time pole holder.
Nope. Just the same way schumi lost his in monaco via penalty. Pole means you start on pole.
There is only one pole lap.
So if a car sets pole lap and is penalised for say, not clearing the grid in time, or receiving a penalty as the gear box needs replacing before the race does it then go?PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑28 Oct 2019, 22:30There is only one pole lap.
The fastest qualifying lap may not turn out to be to the pole lap for a number of reasons.
Yep, Hamilton was fastest in Spain 2012 but was slightly underfueled I believe and lost pole.Big Tea wrote: ↑28 Oct 2019, 22:33So if a car sets pole lap and is penalised for say, not clearing the grid in time, or receiving a penalty as the gear box needs replacing before the race does it then go?PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑28 Oct 2019, 22:30There is only one pole lap.

Crofty said the lap stands, but I know better than to put money on what he says![]()
