5 and 6 would be the best possible for them.

It is what they are supposed to do in 2022 in my opinion, to show real progress

Let’s see, I think this race will be animated
I hope Alpine and Mercedes close the gap from 0.7-9s to a maximun of 0.4-5. It coud give us a championship a little bit like 2012.
That would be great. 2012 season (first 7 races, 7 different winners) was exceptional, something I always wanted to see in f1. 8)
That season could have been perfect if Grosjean didn't crash out with Alonso.

Agreed - would be awesome if they could get into range.

To be fair, Pat Fry appears to have avoided a draggy car, PU looks decent, and so once they commit to a development direction - they to me are a slight hybrid between the two distinct Merc vs Ferrari/RBR approaches, they they should get closer.

Base looks nice and solid to build on from these opening two weekends so far I’d say?

the goal should be fight for the 3rd position in constructors.
it will be hard because Mercedes is Mercedes, but we have Alonso, the GOAT

To paraphrase Pat Fry on Tech Tuesday podcast when asked what was what was his goal for this year and next 4, we know Rossi said "Fight for wins in 100 races". He said you could probably blame Ron Denis and the time I spent at McLaren or Luca Di Montezemolo and the I spent at Ferrari but I would like to be P1 in all 4 years!

Since there's been a safety car there is no mandatory stop right? So Alonso might have to make a pass on track if he wants to get pass Hamilton

I'm not sure if it's clearly the 4th fastest, NOR is pressuring OCON

My heart almost exploded when 14 and 31 fought at the beginning. But still racing pace is not enough. Renault engine:( because of non-gills?

Yeah great battles between Ocon and Alo. Ocon definitely has the upper hand in 2022, maybe Alonso's age is finally catching up?

Edit: typo

No Alonso was faster than Ocon and the Alpine was faster in race trim not few laps before the end
