McLaren MCL36

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Nice series of promo clips filmed yesterday, danny ric at the helm, lots of slowmo also a nice view of the upwashing wake when the car goes through some dust and the setting sun catches the dust in the air.

Quite an extreme camber on the McLaren, does Pirelli not limit the camber anymore?

They do. My feeling is it setup like this because camber looks mean for pictures

I would say it's pointless to try and extract information about handling characteristics on a show run.

I don't think either of the drivers were going anywhere near as fast as you would expect them to on a normal weekend.

If we get some footage of a relatively fast lap from testing, then I would be happy to speculate. But for these laps, in my opinion, is not worth the time.

I caught the sparks coming out and they seem more floor related than from the plank… They are low

Some good close up shots of the McLaren side pod on McLaren reels Instagram. Some sort of hole below the intake and bodywork removed around the shoulder of the side pod.
