RUS was lapping 4-5 tenths slower than MCL on same tyres, he had more deg.

In hindsight RB should've put Max on the Mediums and he would've been close to George at the pitstop phase, maybe even on his gearbox and had a chance for the undercut, the soft tyre dropped off so fast which is why a gap opened up so much.

for what we know, if he had started on medium, now he could have very well been behind McLarens; look at Kimi who started behind him with medium.

Hamilton too, that side definitely had less grip. Medium could have put him at risk, soft was a good risk worth taking I think.
