What was there to be banned about their front wing?

my guess would be, how they were using the raise eye brows to generate outwash.

That would be an extremely tenuous argument. Especially with the way some teams have built their endplate junctions....which are still legal today.

This seems really odd if that's true, I very much doubt it was banned because of the shape of the flaps.

Like I said, it was my guess. It would have to be something on the front wing creating too much outwash or vorticies. I just picked those upper arching flaps cause they were original in shape and size..

Like I said, it was my guess. It would have to be something on the front wing creating too much outwash or vorticies. I just picked those upper arching flaps cause they were original in shape and size..

It's more likely that they are just using the new front wing, and not the older design.

Both wings are not new, but it's interesting that they want to test (again) one of the wings from the current "front wing family" (introduced in Spain) against the low(er) downforce wing they introduced in Saudi Arabia.

They are obviously not happy with their current FW generation, otherwise you don't test a nearly season start spec wing with a different philosophy.

AMR have followed in footsteps of RB again on their sharkfin design, ditching the aggressive pointy sharkfin design of the late-season rb18. New sharkfin resembles recent rb19 sharkfin very closely.

Apart from what organic said, their cooling exit is now a flat shape, before it used to be rather tall with a "double barrel" design but that looks to have been changed.

Very nice spot & comparison shots.

I'll also point to the floor fences specifically the second one (counting inboard fence as 1 and outboard fence as 4) as a possible area of change for this recent upgrade package. Floor leading edge geometry looks unchanged from Canada at first glance

But I don't have the tools to make proper comparisons at the minuteb

i dont know how reliable the source is, but one of the youtube gossip channels are reporting that the front wing was flexing too much under load.
