Collecting some more interviews from the team. Note that some of these are translated to English, so not entirely verbatim.
Leclerc: I always want it and today it was too much. Sometimes it pays off, today it didn't. T1 and 3 I was very happy because I was 2 tenths quicker than my previous lap, T4 I braked late to try and get some time but locked up and then went straight. T6 I did a "banzai" [
] and hoped it would remain stable but went into the gravel instead. T7 I kept trying but from then on I couldn't continue. It's a shame because the first run with used tires in Q3 was very good, the feeling was better and the team did a good job. I made a mistake, so I'm sorry especially after the last races which were difficult, I would have liked to get a better result. A better result would have meant third place perhaps.
Vasseur: We made a small step ahead [compared to earlier], but it wasn't as much as we'd hoped. Charles made a mistake but before the lock up he was much faster than his previous lap. Of course, you have to finish the lap, but that's a risk we needed to take. We minimized the bouncing in turns 9 and 10, but it remains prominent in turn 7. We corrected the brake temperatures and don't anticipate it being a problem for tomorrow's sprint.
Sainz: I'm satisfied, it was a positive qualifying. We were always there, fighting in the top five. It was definitely not easy because it was really tight, but in the end the decisive lap of Q3 was quite clean. I think the team did our best. Mercedes is 10 thousandths behind, but they seem to be ahead on race pace; it will be a tough Grand Prix with them tomorrow.
All in all... pretty positive reactions from all three? Leclerc also mentioned they did end up changing the car a lot compared to the sprint. I wonder what else they changed aside from the brake ducts?
