Wow, 1.2 seconds faster that Q2 Sprint Quali.
Sometimes i dont understand how f1 is weird, 1.5 faster then yesterday with old parts
They qualified with mediums versus softs today.
No the car is better today, of course with the soft everybody go quicker, but like max et the bulls, the car has good handling today

He was very conservative through turns 10 and 11 on the 2nd lap in Q3. If he could have kept the first lap he would have pushed harder through there. Certainly left a 10th maybe 2 in that section.
We can see in the S3 that he stepped off the throttle a little compared VER who stays full throttle. Not sure if he was being conservative, but the instability of the car forced to leave the throttle a little to avoid losing the car or avoiding snaps.

Overall supreme qualy session

I know I sound like a broken record... But man, it's crazy how many here are continuously saying Alo has declined because of his age... Even when almost every trace proves he's still on top.

Someday someone will have to explain that.

En fin...

I think maybe, as you say, it is time to just put this to bed. The truth is, we don't know if he has declined because of age, there is no objective way for us to know. It's all unsubstantiated speculation. What is clear is he is still operating at a very high level. Unfortunately, people can only seem to think of things in binary ways, he is probably a different driver to earlier in this career because he has probably had to adapt. Much like other sports people adapt their game as they get older.

Amazing how a modern simulator can help fix this hungary floor that they couldn’t make it work before

So I can't believe I missed this, just presumed they were running Suzuka floor. Sad state, it's getting harder and harder to find pictures on the inter webs ... So this is a picture from free practice 1

I think that is the Hungry floor edge.

Compare with my handy dandy 2024 AMR Floor list ...

It is apparently the Hungary floor, forgot to mention it. It was said it was better suited to this track than the Suzuka floor.

Qualifying duel without sprints is now 18-5 vs Stroll. 21-8 with sprints. 14-1 streak for Alonso since Hungary!

Mid-season was poor but it has improved since then to more acceptable numbers.

We now have almost two full seasons each with Alonso and Vettel facing the same teammate in the same team to compare and I think the difference is more than clear... :)

Real fans always knew difference between a Alonso and Vettel.
Vettel never won a single race starting from lower than 3rd od the grid.
He is the worst champion ever and a 4 time fraud.

Well I wouldnt go that far, that is a bit too much. But having great cars does a lot for sure.
