"Lance was going through the programme very well before suffering a suspected battery issue, which brought his FP2 session to a slightly early end.
Engine was turned up for Fp2. But still to slow.vassilispapadop wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 20:13Diff at max speed is 19kph(329kph vs 310kph) Audi-Hulk

Albon was being a jerk and blocked Alonso on the final third of his hot lap.Badger wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 20:45He was raging on the in lap after the session, mashing the throttle over and over again. Also throwing hand signals all over the placeI think the situation is starting to get to Fernando, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a "GP2" type scenario soon enough. The man is driving through "La Monumental" in his home race at like 200 kph. Not very "monumental".
Alot of that anger was because he was out of sync and was trying to do quali laps when everyone else was on long runs.Badger wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 20:45He was raging on the in lap after the session, mashing the throttle over and over again. In the tech talk it was mentioned that they only need to declare visible changes.TyreSlip wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 12:23I do not think Aston Martin have to declare lighter parts if its shape is still the same.collindsilva wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 12:14No updates listed for AMR, is the lighter gearbox arrived yet..
This already is analogous. Only the press didn't pick it up.Badger wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 20:45He was raging on the in lap after the session, mashing the throttle over and over again. I've thought about it, I don't think they're changing the casing. They already changed the gearbox case in Hungary. The rest still applies... What they're talking about changing now is the gearbox/gearbox cassette itself, which sits inside the gearbox case, isn't structural, and has no limit on the number you can run in a year. Although the gearbox design is homologated, therefore, can only be updated for reliability.TyreSlip wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 15:26No, it is OK. I appreciate learning about the minute details in the rules. So a lighter gearbox under the guise of "reliability" reasons would have to be crash tested for structural integrity because it anchors the chassis?diffuser wrote: ↑11 Sep 2026, 15:00Sorry not picking on you....
You can't just update the gearbox to make it lighter, tge rules prevent that. It can only be updated for reliability. Even then it's complicated.
Interesting article https://f1chronicle.com/f1-gearbox-rule ... mandatory.
"This dual function means that the gearbox design cannot be optimized purely for transmission performance without regard to its structural role, and the structural requirements it must meet are among the factors that determine how much scope the team has to minimize its mass. A lighter gearbox casing that meets the transmission requirements but not the structural requirements is not compliant, since both sets of requirements are mandatory. The structural tests that verify the gearbox casing’s integrity as a chassis member are part of the homologation process, and changes to the casing that affect its structural performance require the same retesting that would be required for equivalent changes to any other certified structural component."
