Because races with refuelling were so good?

Oh no, wait, they weren't. There were naff all on track overtakes because they were all decided by strategy.

The cars do need to shrink a little bit more, but refuelling would make races worse.

The lack of overtaking on track back when refueling was allowed had actually very little to do with refueling. The drivers would overtake on the track if it is possible. But back then, they had the same issue as they had now on the Madring. Because of the aerodynamics of the cars back then and the layout of some tracks, overtakes were near impossible to do, unless a massive delta between the cars existed.
Banning refueling did not solve the issue with overtakes, DRS did.
I mean on many tracks in the years after the introduction of DRS, there wasn't hardly any overtakes that didn't happen in or just after a DRS zone.
Today, take away the Overtake-mode and overtake wise it would be the early 2000's all over again.

Fair enough. The same people calling for refuelling are also calling for them to return to V8's with no electrification though, so they would lose overtake mode in the process.

I’m fine with keeping the electric elements, they just need to be reduced to say 10% of the total PU power output.

Batteries take up a lot of room and are still fairly heavy, so reducing them back to a sensible level will get rid of the yo-yo racing and allow the cars to be lighter and more nimble. Adding back refueling will also enable the FIA to reduce car size and weight.

10 sprint races next season confirmed. Milking it to death. Sad times. Reduced Sunday race length likely too. My god.

Likely a sport that was once loved, turned into something many will just dip in and out of, if that hasn’t happened already.

A sprint race at Monaco?!?!

The only upside is an extra qualifying session. But what is the point in another race. It'd be better just to ditch the sprint (A leisurely jog since no one can overtake) procession, have FP3 and replace FP2 with a Fast Lap Shootout for points. Basically, qualifying but at the end you just get awarded points for your fast laps.

‘Big Men’ want to make ‘big decisions’ in all walks of life and it looks like this is happening in F1 now so they can say ‘I was the Big Man who green lighted the sprint race at Monaco’ even though anyone with a racing brain knows a sprint race at Monaco will be a dud.

The teams live and breathe data, historical data but it seems when any data is presented to the leadership group it is just dismissed.

What next, manipulate the rules so a great champion doesn’t have to drive with an incompetent PU manufacturer again? Oh wait….

I tried to get into it but I just couldn't. I hate Sprint weekends.

Before Sprints were introduced, I never used to miss Free Practice sessions. The 90-min FP1 was a time to chat about interesting bits happening in the paddock. I loved the way the weekend slowly built to a crescendo of Saturday qualy. The grand prix on Sundays used to feel special.

Now I find myself missing several sessions particularly during Sprint weekends.

I like the sprint weekends. Two qualifying sessions and two races. What is not to like?

All races are reduced from 305km to 290km because of the fuel flow increase in 2027.

Qualifying at Monaco is special because there is only one qualifying in Monaco all season.
The special feeling will just be diluted if there is 2 quali sessions.
