Poor day from Ozzy today.

Both drivers looking slightly tentative. Just go out there and give it some tomorrow boys, the handbrake has to come off now- this is Championship time.

It's not just drivers. The car doesn't seem to be on Red Bull's level anymore. 3 tenths is a lot. Max didn't even need a 2nd run. It looks like the car is becoming worse each race along with Piastri and I don't think that's normal.

You're forgetting that they didn't race a single lap of the print race, the others have a ton of data. P2 is fine but Piastri is completely lost this weekend. Let's hope for a better Sunday.

The cars have taken big old bangs not long ago. The suspension was snapped on Oscars car. I think they had to patch up as much as possible

It's not just a matter of this race. The team aren't themselves 4 races in a row. In fact they are becoming worse as each race passes and conveniently the race leader suffers the worst of it. Sudden DNFs by repeating mistakes, struggling more and more with the car in each race and now battling toe to toe with Ferrari and Mercedes. This doesn't look normal to me.

We no longer have the fastest car, Max can will all till the end, championship is still possible but it will be extremely hard, who would have thought that one month ago?

That P2 was from talent. The impact of no laps in Sprint was obvious. Hope for a good race tomorrow and no hit.

I doubt Oscar is finishing on the podium tomorrow.
The door is fully open for Max now.
After creating such a master piece with the MCL39 they’ve made a mistake switching off its development.

Lando has been the quicker Mclaren driver since Verstappens upturn in performance, maybe he should be the priority?

Piastri is collapsing right in front of our eyes. The pressure is getting to him now. This is why you don’t prioritise one driver over another prematurely. Keep both horses in the running in case one develops a limp.

Other teams upgraded is pretty simple.

They would have had a real crack at beating Max in the Sprint, if they had got past turn 1. Now running sub optimal.

Its like last year when Mclaren caught up with RedBull, just other way round.

Piastri is going to lose the lead in the championship by the time we get to Vegas.

You wonder if they've gone cautious on set up as didnt have the data.

They probably pulled the plug on 2025 development just a bit too early, while Mercedes and Red Bull have found great improvements, and to some extent Ferrari as well. And without that pace advantage, the team seems to struggle a bit.

And to add something, saw on F1tv on Lando come back to pit in Q1 to change used softs with new, the front left tire again with a visible delay. So they are slow also outside the race. This has to be curred, cause now a 5 seconds pitstop in a tight race vs Max is equivalent with P2. They don't have anymore the advantage from first part of the season.
