A shameless image thread for the enginephiles

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Obviously a little less spectacular, but still an epic engine, against the flow. Renault's RS22

Three moderators in a row, is this a royal flush?

Here's an engine from the 20's, the mighty 12hp ABC Air cooled flat 2. A wonderfully simple concept isn't it?

The fuel tank was where one would normally expect a radiator, so apparently mechanics would top it up with water ... #-o

Oh no Strad, you are surely not trying to subvert this "IMAGE ONLY" thread into a quiz thread are you? L.O.L...

1st pic is a rare 2-stroke! ( now, sadly banned), & BRM V16 rather than Vanwall in 3rd pic, I think..

Built by Augusto Monaco and Carlo Felice Trossi, the 1935 Monaco Trossi is a front engined beast designed to race in Grand Prix, but due to terrifying driving dynamics never did. The engine is an eight bank, 16-cylinder radial air-cooled 2-cycle, 3982cc engine with two Zoller superchargers. The whole shebang was good for 250 HP at 6000 rpm and powered the front wheels.

That would be "eight cylinders per bank" - two banks.

Second pic is a GN Spider - says so on the hood.
