So 0,6 liters is enough for one oil boating (with additives) lap. Mega difference those horsepowers make.
Just show, here is how much 0.6 litres means (per 100 kms)

Yes, per 100 km, you can put a picture of a 2 liter coke bottle there for the full race. Also, very clear to see, they are now just doing 1 party mode lap. In which they can still use as much oil (with the performance additives) as last year.

The only way to get rid of this advantage totally is to enforce 0,1 liter, the actual oil usage.

Actually a save bet that VES and VET will crash in turn 1.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

It is closer this year compared to the end of last year. Ignore Lewis and his 6 tenths. Had Bottas been in the last run, he would have been outdone by The ferraris and verstappen. I don't think this car has repented from being a diva as yet.
This circuit was never one to be representative of the season. Hamilton usually finds half a second on these mickey mouse tracks.
This season will be close than others before it.
For Sure!!

I don,t think so, Bottas would be 3 tenths behind Lewis, that’s the talent deficit, rest the engine.

From 2+ to 1.2 to 0.9 to 0.6, nothing has changed. And crucially, Ferrari and Renault are also doing the same. So, even if it goes down to 0, it's not just hurts Mercedes, but also the other teams. I would love that to happen and then see what the excuses are going to be, for the incompetence in the PU area!

The season is not over after one pole position. Ferrari will have their chances tomorrow for sure. People just have to accept that in this mode Lewis and the Car combined nobody can be up there. We saw that many times, Lewis has always special tenths in the pocket. As for the competition it will be interesting to have more competitors upfront.
Qualy : 1-Merc 2-Ferrari 3-RBR
Race : Ferrari = Merc (I am waiting Allison touch for tyres) = RBR. Strategy will be the key.
PS: That Force India is looking like a big mess #-o Maybe I am wrong ! So disappointed because I think they better drivers than Renault or Haas.
The gap is way bigger than last year, and last year Merc had an edge over the season. This year is looking bigger than last year.
You have to take into account that last year the early season performances and struggles were the other way around. Mercedes was struggling with setup and Ferrari was clearly ahead on this topic.
This year Mercedes gives the feeling to have fully understood the car whereas Ferrari seems to have not figured out the behaviour of their car yet.

Agreed, nothing has changed, 0,6 is still enough. I actually do think that enforcing actual oil usage as a limit will make a difference. Don’t forget, F1 is also about politics, merc is the biggest spender, they have had the power to keep the oil burn limits high enough for years now in the political arena, the FIA doesn’t want to upset their main competitor too much.

The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

Indeed so. All we're going to listen to is certain Ferrari and RedBull fans talk about oil...

The race tomorrow is long, the season is also long. Don't give up hope for an exciting season just yet.

Mercedes was as good as expected to be on qualifying mode especial on colder than normal weather for AUS qually.
Tomorrow if the temps rises a little bit, don't be surprised if you see a Ferrari and a Red bull stacking up behind HAM with nowhere to pass him.
I am not convinced yet that Mercedes will have superior race pace in AUS.

First sector already shows the party mode. 3 tenths of a second faster than the others.
