I doubt he is doing anything for STR anymore. He's signed a contract with McLaren. The minute that came out, they no longer want him looking at what STR/RBR are doing. He basically locked out of everything.

I think this run for Lando has been planned from a while. I remember him saying he'd be getting a FP1 run at Spa back in Hungary I think it was. Let's see how he get's on. Don't think it means anything towards Stoffel's future.

Asked if Key was now on 'gardening leave', Marko replied: "As far as I know he's on holiday at the moment, and we won't put him in a position where he gets all the latest information, that's clear."

I doubt Key will be allowed back at STR

I don think well see Lando in F1 anymore after this year. It will be very hard from him to come back to any team. He's are great driver just very hard to deal with.

Land? Or Fernando?
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Moderators must be on holidays, because last 4-5 pages of this threads are terrible, they belong to the silly season thread!

Ferlando Alorris?
Finally, everyone knows that Red Bull is a joke and Max Verstappen is overrated.

Gardening leave is only allowed for 6 months or something. RB is trying to put Key on Gardening leave without calling it that. They could give him some boring, trivial work and tell him he must finish his contract. Or better yet, give him a really big-picture ambitious project he must work on, but give him no data, no support, just tell him he is working from a blank sheet of paper so it sound more significant in front of a judge.

Or they could put him on with refinements on any of the myriad of projects he already knows about, since he's a great asset and you're paying for him anyway, instead of shooting yourself in the foot for 6 months out of spite.

I think the minute one signs a contract with someone else, it puts them on gardening leave.
The employee has said that he nolonger wants to work for you. Not sure why STR would want to keep paying his salary and postpone the inevitable.
What do you do if he refuses to do anything?

Take him to court for his wages, time and expenses.
You're still paying his salary whether you put him on leave or not.

The only real fear is him recruiting junior ppl to follow him to McLaren.

By not doing it, I mean, taking 20% longer to do something, doing with your heart not in it. Really, you'd have to double check everything he does.

Perhaps he has a 6 month notice period and has handed in the notice, or perhaps there is a clause if he is offered a particular role by certain teams. Not sure you can tie someone to finish their contract, that sounds like modern day slavery.
