Didn't some other drivers including Hamilton say that their team told them the rain was going to intensify?
Finally, everyone knows that Red Bull is a joke and Max Verstappen is overrated.

It's always a guess as to when and by how much. You're also talking about a window of the last 3 or 4 laps( 6 - 8 minutes) max.

The Team and Lando were counting on the rain not getting as heavy as it did (and so quick)… If the rain wouldn’t have been as hard, they could have lost 6 seconds a lap and still won it… It was a matter of choosing a win over P2… Can’t fault them, they gamble and they lost, but they went for it and I can appreciate that.

Even pitting they could still win, if Hamilton styed out they'd have made that time up by several seconds a lap. Merc knew more rain was coming, although not how much. Max displayed how much quicker the Inter was, several seconds per lap and the track was going to take several laps to dry out.

Hamilton's Tyres, if he'd stayed out, would have lost temperature so even if the track dried, he wouldn't be able to gather the time he would need.

It felt like All or Nothing by staying out, perhaps I'm just being harsh, but it just seems like both Norris and the team showed poor judgement. A lesson to learn and I am sure they will.

Thing is… if they’d pitted, and lost because the rain stopped, people would still be saying they new better than McLaren

They’d say things like they should have listened to Lando, or I was screaming at the TV ‘stay out, stay out’

They the the dice, gambled on making it to the end, and lost out. They’ll get over it, Lando will get over… hell, one day perhaps the fans will move on too

Important thing is they took it on the chin, examined it, learnt from it, and grew from it. Now let’s see what Turkey brings

I have the same thought process… It was a gamble, it didn’t work… Lessons learned and we move on.

Let’s hope Turkey provides similar emotions!

And that’s where the Team made the mistake, they thought that there wasn’t enough time to be lost to compensate for a PitStop, with the information they had at hand and not expecting for the rain to ramp up so fast, they thought that staying out was the best bet to win it… We all know what the outcome was, but they stayed out with the intention of winning it, that’s what I appreciate :)

Let’s hope the next gamble pays off!

It was a narrow window really. If Hamilton pitted but did not immediately get inside pitstop window, Norris would surely stop to protect against deterioration of conditions. I was hoping that they can somehow match what Mercedes is doing but they couldn't do it. Maybe they should have taken into account that Mercedes will cover Verstappen and thus play it conservative.

Probably late to the show here regarding the fall out from Sochi but if Ric didn’t have a slow first stop for slick tyres then Lando would more than likely have won the race having pitting for intermediate tyres.
Without the slow stop Ric would covered Hamilton and Norris could have continued to build his lead over Ric and the field in his second stint to then allow him a very safe pit stop to cover the other intermediate pitters.
Just a fan's point of view

It's really crazy how many coincidences needed to happen in order to lose the lead. But to be fair, we were lucky to get the pole in first place (Verstappen penalty, top teams late to change the tyres).

This is true I think, we have had some luck to get us in the positions over the las two races.

But it is nice to see us talked about in the media as new entrants to the class of "ready to be championship contenders"

The thing is now, they know it is 'doable'. Knowing it may make the tiny % difference between achieving it regularly or not.
It may also make a tweak to the strategies necessary
