for legality, I think there is a floor cut out so there needs to be one on the slat as well to be able to see the ground from the top

They confirm it tomorrow if they'll use it. Tobi Grüner (AMuS reporter) wrote on Twitter: ''From what I heard on the track today [wednesday], I would be surprised if Mercedes didn't drive the Spec2 engines. But the progress isn't that big.''

The bargeboards were much smaller in the v8 era from 2010-2013 to what we have now.
I'm not trying to be obtuse but I'm trying to understand why the rake between the front wing and t-tray is more important than the rake between the front wing and diffuser?

I don't see what the size of the bargeboards has to do with the rake?
Something not mentioned here but well established in other parts of the forum about rake is that it puts the front wing closer to the ground, this increases its performance as it moves more into the realm of running like a diffuser rather than a wing.

Running the front wing closer to the ground also makes it more pitch sensitive and because the increase in performance isn't linear that can make it tricky for the driver.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

The little winglet right below and behind the push rod is now split into two pieces and the 'Sauber-fin' on the upper wishbone is gone since Canada.

Arrangement in Spain for comparison.

So basically there is nothing new at the car, and the new PU is not confirmed. Hmm terrific job.

Nothing new by the looks of it. And yes, the new PU is probably gonna be delayed again.

There's one thing i don't understand about the W09, why don't they have a sleak shark fin for the races where they'll keep it closed?
2 options, A-sleak version, B-enlarged open chimney...

This enlarged closed chimney i don't understand.

It definitely isn't a budget problem for them to create different engine covers. Maybe they are not sure whether they want it opened or covered so they bring them this way have to have both options? Have they ever run them half open?

I believe they keep it closed when it's not running to prevent dirt and debris from accumulating inside.

It's commonly called a "dust cover."
