lol folks were like "will Max win every race from now on?" it'll be hard to win a single race
Well, people were basing that on the Monza spec where Max was faster than the Mclaren's in the slow sectors.
There's no credible evidence the floor isn't working as intended.

Brazil these regulations has been a bogey track. Nowhere in 22, Norris was faster in 23, similar to 23 in 24 and rain saved the day and now nowhere like 22. It's what it is.
Call a spade, a spade.

Car isn't working in S2 over the single lap. Feels like this wing choice is purely with the race in mind. Wet would be bad at this point, too little downforce.

Makes sense to set up the car for wet sprint. Then they can change after.

4 tenths in 1 sector is inexplicable for a car that was performing well in COTA in similar corners. Can't just chalk it down to it being a bogey track, there's deeper problems.

Gap to Norris in indeed similar to last year's SQ. 3 tenths. He gained in S1 and S2 (1 tenth each, but lost 5 tenths vs last year). They were hoping to keep S2 losses small with the low drag wing and gain in straights. Let's see how that pans out in the sprint. Hope it is a wet sprint.

doesn't sound good to have low drag wing with a wet sprint race coming up....remember Silverstone

The only positive from today is that max has an extra set of mediums vs the others. Mediums seems to be the faster tyre looking at SQ2.

I'm confident they'll get right for tomorrow evening and sunday but Max can't afford to drop more than 2 points in the sprint tbh. At least it looks wet, so who knows...

High speed corners should be redbull natural habitat aston martin are one of the slowest cars on the grid very hard to understand the grid.i dont understand why they didnt use the max more loaded front wing from Austin.

I think Max said on the radio that the car feels broken and undrivable or something like that. I usually just listen to what Max has to say and it seems like it's another weekend where he doesn't have the balance he wants.

He also said lack of grip on all compounds to Mekies on the radio at the end.

Marko saying the same, probably a combination of both led to the massive loss in sector 2.

Problem is that race will be dry, while tomorrow should be a washout with rain, so good luck in finding the right setup.

to collect more useful data in the sprint, Tsunoda got the same setup as Verstappen, by the way, according to Marko.

We know how things stand if after tomorrow Q3 Red Bull has the same pace and is around p5,6, then its over.

Maybe a good thing is has happened in sprint qualy, hopefuly they can fix something for the main race. S2 cant get any worse, the car needs better front end there. I am not optimistic, but it would take a miracle to fight for the win on sunday. And lets say a mega turn-around.
