Still running limited, I think the max I saw was 295kmh-300kmh
What kind of engine do they have, anyway? Oh , Honda.

They are slow than Cadillac, they still not passing to 300 yet. Honda did again?

yeah, its just a first day of pre season test, but, not amazing news. And now they has a huge problems and ta more than 2 hours to fix it. We'll face a worse year than 2025?

Calm down dude, Aston are not doing glory runs today. The low number of laps so far compared to red Bull etc. is more worrying than the pace.

I am not concerned about the pace but that they are still restricting the engine not to top 300 kph. The shakedown was two weeks ago.

AFAIK it's not even clear that the origin is engine-relatedd

I'm guessing it's the cooling, that's why there's that open bodywork on the sidepods, and why they've added louvres. Also, possibly limiting the revs in the engine to avoid it getting too hot. They probably can't push it for too many laps to avoid engine failure, trying to keep it cool while they test other components.

That might also explain why they are able to get more laps in the morning sessions before the ambient temperature is hotter in the afternoon (Same as Barcelona).

Martin Whitmarsh : Director (CEO)
Appointed on 1 July 2023
Resigned on 7 October 2024

Andrew Cowell : Director (Group CEO)
Appointed on 8 October 2024
Resigned on 31 December 2025

As CEO, his job is perhaps to restructure the team, manage shareholders and bring in the new talents to the team. To be terminate so early is never a good thing.

AMR PERFORMANCE GROUP LIMITED was established in Sep 2022
This is him at the March 18 2023 Saudi GP with AM headset
Here is a 2022 talking about what his Job will be.

At the 8:59 mark you can see him seated at the 2022 car launch

So you're probably getting lost in name changes cause there have been several...
- 2008–2018: Force India
- 2018–2020: Racing Point F1 Team
- 2021–2023: The team competed as the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team after rebranding from Racing Point ahead of the 2021 season.
- From 2024 onward: The official team name was updated to the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team after Saudi energy company Aramco became the primary title sponsor and Cognizant was dropped from the official title.

The Aston Martin F1 team has a technical arm called Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT). He might have getting paid from that side of the house back then.

It may be that they are just not opening the wings, not that the engine is limited. Still, the lack of running is quite worrying.

Some people reporting about a possible overheating in the Aston Martin engine, pending to confirm this.

Aston Martin already has massive cooling outlets, and they are already significantly restricting the engine's top speed. Sigh.

Withmarsh joined Aston Martin on October 1, 2021, many reports had him as CEO by that date, if not, he was already employed by Aston Martin.
