Well done Max. This must be one of the toughest championship seasons for him since winning his first. RBR will certainly need to find him a stronger teammate in 2025.
But this will be a very tough task.
# My hype for Colapinto cooled down a bit, given his recent crashes. It's nice to be fast, but you have to bring it to the chequered flag.
# Checo is more or less out of the game.
# Lawson is not miles better than Yuki
# Yuki is from a sponsoring point of view not the real deal and still hot headed from time to time
So Max's 25' teammate will be THE question over the winter
At this point I would go for Tsunoda, he IS fast, and seems much more calm now. Has bettered Ricciard, seems to be better than Lawson right now if only because of experience.
But really, Sainz, what a missed opportunity.

Ferrari fans prefer Leclerc and clearly see Sainz as a threat enough to spout enough nonsense about him. It's the same context with other drivers and their teammates. If the teammate is threatening enough, you'll get all kinds of stories. From car development to politics to being nice, anything and everything is a conspiracy.
In the context of Red Bull, as far as I am concerned, Max will be comfortable in making Carlos a proper second driver with a bigger margin than Leclerc.
Red Bull having gone through an internal rift within their ranks probably didn't want one between Jos and Sainz Sr, and the former is extremely abrasive no doubt -- still can't look past his Red Bull will explode comments earlier this year.
Personally Sainz was a great option that Red Bull really shouldn't have missed out on. Horner knew Piastri well before and dropped the ball on him last year -- that's the other big missed option. It was clear Perez wasn't going to be good enough long term -- so that extension before the Monaco 2022 crash and win was really weird, and the latest one as well.

A reason I really don't like team principals (and CEO. non driving staff) talking too much only comes back to bite in something they can't control the drivers themselves year. But they, Horner, Toro, Brown, Stella etc all do it so..part of the game I get. But not sure you ever want to give someone like Max even more motivation

IMHO, Ocon could have been a good 2nd driver to Max (despite that famous Brazil 2018 scuffle). Max has enough 'dirty driver' in him to combat the 'dirty driver' in Ocon. So that cancels out. Apart from that, Ocon is excellent at wheel-to-wheel combat (isn't afraid to stick his nose in) who can take the fight to the competition and hold his place. Most importantly he isn't a 'tentative' driver like Perez (who shows in 1/20 races that he used to be a quick driver) and will commit to a 'move' in the race.

I agree actually. Ocon would be good as a second driver and he would happily do his thing.
Perez is actually terrible -- as bad as Gasly and Albon were at this point.
No words needed. I was crying today. Max and Vettel my two favourite drivers, and both have 4 world titles now. Not in my lifetime they say, didnt believe it. Our pace was very good on the medium tyres, but in the last stint we were poor on the hards. But I didnt care, I told Max just bring it home, who cares if someone overtakes you. Thats probably the only race I can say that. Unbelievable season, probably his best title to date. Qatar should be better with all of medium-high speed corners and much higher track temperatures. But what a day.

It would not cancel out but add up. We have seen that with Ocon/Gasly.
Well deserved title, he may be tad over aggressive sometimes and get heated but he has all the champion material ingredients and the and that’s what counts. Hopefully next year the teams are much more closer and as well having better teammate so we can see proper championship battles.
