I didn't see speed traces etc, but for quite a while now RB has been trundling around in very low engine modes in fp1. Usually they are right up there when it comes to qualy.

Max went out first, there still was a lot of track evolution, he didnt have the perfect prep and a lot of traffic. Ferrari is fastest but not by that much.

Leclerc did his soft tire run within 10 seconds of Max. Watched it live. They followed each other on the out lap. Max was a full second slower. It's baffling.

Max was on higher fuel or low engine mode. He didn't gain much on the fastest parts of his soft lap vs his medium lap despite massive track evolution.

Ferrari looks fast, but I expect Max to be close.
Especially as every lap on mediums he was fastest overall with most purple minisectors of anyone until others continued to set fast laps and Max was already preparing for his high fuel run.

He often starts early with his race sim when he is happy with the balance.

Max's laps were pretty much perfect. It's just slow. The season is done. It is what it is.
