I have not seeing the team turn it around that much... But, i agree that it’s in Qualifying where it matters, but the expectation was to be a little closer to the front than what the numbers show.chrisgr wrote:I wouldn't be so pessimistic. Mclaren has been like this, during free practices, for many gps. I would wait for the qualifying before I make any conclusions.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Sep 2019, 15:13It seems that Mclaren doesn’t have the expected pace in Sochi... It’s only practice and I’m sure there is more to be found before Qualifying, but they may be missing a golden opportunity for points in Russia since both RBR’s will probably start in 10-11th position.
Was expecting more today.

Qualifying is almost certain to be wet, so maybe they’re going in a different direction, how was the race pace?SmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Sep 2019, 15:53I have not seeing the team turn it around that much... As soon as I find some data on race pace I will try to share it... They could very well be gearing up for a wet qualifying... Let’s wait for the team to issue their statements about practice.Ground Effect wrote:Qualifying is almost certain to be wet, so maybe they’re going in a different direction, how was the race pace?SmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Sep 2019, 15:53I have not seeing the team turn it around that much... https://twitter.com/Carlossainz55/statu ... 8903539713Challenging Friday today. We tried different set-ups but we still have a lot of work ahead of us. It looks like tomorrow is going to rain, so things can change quickly.
It seems the rumors haven’t slowed down in that regard... Reading the article, it does make sense for Mclaren to go with Mercedes if it’s possible to do so... The question is, when will the partnership start? It is too late for 2020, so 2021 might be the target date.M840TR wrote:Joe Saward: Rumours circulating around the paddock suggest Mclaren will soon anounce move to Mercedes for engine supply.

Probably just hopeful it would have happened soonerJambier wrote:Of course 2021, they have a contract with Renault for 2020SmallSoldier wrote: ↑27 Sep 2019, 16:57It seems the rumors haven’t slowed down in that regard...
