Really who cares what is on the helmet, a topless bird is everywhere now days, and H.A.M i needed to looked up the meaning of, agian i find niether offensive.
Seriously HAM means that. Most people would simply think that it was the first three letters of his name, you know the same letters that come up on the graphics and on all the towers showing spectators where the drivers are, that's what I thought anyway. Vettel's Helmet is just funny, go to an close up shot of him and its the right temperature, how are the commentators going to explain that? Alonso's and Perez's are both really nice. Perez's normal Helmet is my favourite and this one is great to. Id have a similar design if I was a driver just purple not green with the British flag instead of a Mexican one on top in the same position. Its just smart. Mind you McLaren helmet's have always looked good.
"Leave it to Lewis Hamilton to ruin Redbull's day" - Martin Brundle
"Ok Lewis, Its Hammertime!!" - Peter Bonnington
"Fresh tires, 15 laps. What do you think Lewis Hamilton is going to do?" - Martin Brundle
That design was from 2012, and so is the article from the Sun (Excellent news source ). How is this relevant to 2013? Did he try to use it again? I thought the back was him in a car with his dog and lady friend.

People are comparing the H.A.M. helmet from Texas and Vettel's current Monaco helmet as both are "inappropriate" and wonder why Vettel's is allowed but Hamilton's Texas helmet was not. I think some of the comments were imported from the race board so the thread seems a bit discontinuous.
i still don't get why Vettel is allowed his helmet. Its not very family friendly is it? and apparently you can see Vettel's helmet from his on board so whats different

And that is why I LOVE Kimi. He just wants to race. Doesnt get involved in anything else. Just give him a decent car and he will put it on the podium. Then he will go to a bar, have a few drinks, and have a good time.
I wish more people were like that. In F1 and in other aspects of life.
It seems more likely that someone within FOM or the FIA objected (somehow? No idea where this started) to rearward facing text ("James Hunt") because that's against regs (quoting Benson), upon hearing this someone/everyone interpreted this as being anti-RUSH or just anti-unpaid advertising, and then Mr. E came out and used his trademarked blinking-owl-style kung fu PR skills to calm everything down.
