I reckon McLaren have 0.6-0.7s advantage (minimum) over the field in race trim.
Other teams should forget about P1-P2 and aim for P3. I expect to see a fight between Ferrari and Max for P3. And realistically, he should finish P6 behind both Ferraris and Russel, given the tyre deg problems RB20 has in current form.

With new floor and new wings, MCL38 is a proper monster, just like RB19 and just like W11/W12

Everyone appears to be thinking there'd be no difference tomorrow, but rain seriously gonna make this track a slaughterhouse.

Just like RB19? It was slower than MCL37 at Interlagos on raw pace and on race pace Max had extremely marginal advantage, likely only because he is Max.

What's the point in repaving the whole track if the end result comes out worse than existing tarmac? I remember when they repaved it back in 2014 cars were stupidly fast that year when it was brand new. Now they come up with this...
Yup, repaving to make it worse is outright nonsensical and stupid. Just for reference, in 2014/2015 Audi R18 LMP1 car was taking the quickest corner of the track at 188km/h(min speed) during the 6h race. Given that the current F1 cars are taking it at around 220km/h during qualy, maybe they will corner just like a heavy LMP1 during the race. Just shows how much worse the track has got.

Tires left after SQ:

If it stays dry (looks likely at the moment), most will do the sprint on used mediums, I guess.

It looks like a lot smaller chance of rain for Q today, while Sunday remains a washout... Could be worth using fresh Mediums today, especially since so many cars used them for 6 laps already, deg is gonna be an issue today
AeroGimli.x

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Website is extremely slow to load. Let’s hope they’ve noticed and can sort it before the sprint

Ferrari with the somewhat unusual choice of 2 combined cooling specs for the sprint (not just the classic asymmetric closure)

Everyone on mediums for the sprint. Only Gasly and Lawson start on new tires

McLaren are complete and utter idiots that deserve to lose.

Should have let Norris through on lap one.

McLaren is throwing away the driver's title with this crap. Genuinely do not deserve to win if they can't sort out basic team orders.
