Another solid race for Williams. P4 in the WCC(ahead for Ferrari!).

Albon is flying. Sainz having a few troubles with adaptation but I think he will get there eventually.
Still, after DSQs he got his first point onboard, so one box checked. Now he needs to build his confidence with the car and get results. Albon on the other hand has prooved again he is made out of the right material.

It is really nice to see Williams being back at the sharp end of the midfield again.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Sainz always had one big weakness: his operating window which is smaller than other drivers.

When he is comfortable, he is super quick, especially in some tracks. He will have to find it soon, though.

I don’t agree, I think its fairly normal. In comparison to Leclerc, yes I would say its more limited.

His start so far is very similar to his start at McLaren, which took him 4-5 races to start getting the most out of. He was behind a rookie Lando in points until the 6th race of the season.

Yes, for sure he needs a few races to understand how the car works. But if you remember he also struggled a bit at Renault with Hulk. I think his raw speed can be higher than him, but he just couldn't find himself comfortable with the car on a regular basis.

Albon has already scored more points than he did in the entire 2024 season.

Rumor in some F1 media circles that Sainz is in a rebuilt 2024 tub while they finish a second 2025 tub. Not sure if there is any truth to that, but I guess we’ll find out.

Well, a tweaked chassis would explain some of his issues as it doesn't make sense that the car would've changed in feeling so much from testing to race.

Hopefully they go through the existing chassis with a fine comb and swap another one in if issues continue.

Isn't Sainz just a bit too much used to a fast car and overdriving the slower Williams?
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

I find this kind of thinking a bit puzzeling, as Sainz fastest lap in Australian Q this year in a 'slower' Williams was 0,254s fater than he did in his last years 'fast' car.

Chinese track was resurfaced, Carlos was 2,457s faster than last year, the car this year would feel much better than last years Ferrari to drive around the track.

I tend to belive, that this years Williams is at least equal than last years Ferrari.

He will get there, hopefouly he will be on Albons pace allready in Japan.

It's not about the pace, a "slower" Ferrari might rotate better, handle more predictably at the limit, have a wider setup window, be more accommodating of different driving styles, etc.

Regardless, I think he'll figure it out but it might not be on the timeline we think it will be.
