More details about McLaren's technical leadership changes are becoming public as it has now become clear that Toro Rosso's highly valued technical director, James Key, is set to join McLaren in the same role.
This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
True, but aside from Ricciardo and Kimi, their drivers should be on about the same level as other midfield drivers....so the car can make the difference...
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren
Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻♂️

I would rate Kimi same as Perez or Hulk really. Ricciardo is somewhere in between. Struggles with pace more than a top driver should but gets good points when given the opportunity. The others are more or less comparable to Sainz and Norris as you said.
They just need to get on with announcing when James Key will actually start work in Woking now....
I think it's safe to say he'll be there in time for development of the 2020 car.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.
@2018 Singapore Grand Prix drivers press conference.
Two years in F1 for a driver out-qualified and out-raced by his teammate 99% of the time.
whilst having the charisma, motivation and ability to reflect like a sack of potatoes.
how he ever got landed an F1 seat, and kept it, is beyond me.

while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"
2015 GP2 series, which he won the WDC of;not the least due to driving for ART, don't think much is needed to be said about how that team is the most desired team to be in due to it's known degree of success.
nr2 in the WDC results: Alexender Rossi. 'main competitor'. trash.
nr3 in the WDC results : Sergey Sirotkin LOL!!. 'competitor'.
nr4 in the WDC results: Rio Haryanto.....another big lol.
his teammate at Art; noruburo matshishita. useless x2.
2014 GP2 series,
BEATEN BY JOYLON PALMER. that other total nothing, with the character of a haystack.
he only beat friggin felipe NASR by a meager 5 points, whom retired twice during the season.
2013 formula 3.5 series he did pretty well.
2012 Formula Renault main rival and runner-up: Sergey Sirotkin again.
just some things to mention, there is nothing i've seen where VanDoorne ever looked anything special.
above all, his main rivals were complete and utter useless untalented drivers.
VanDoorne also mainly dug his own grave by entering the Mclaren seat. A drive at Sauber would have been much better.
He's just not up for the task in F1, so i'm glad he's gone.
