I get your logic.

I think Macca could be strong in 2016 in Honda's second year after they get all the bugs ironed out. If I was a young driver, I may want to be under a long term deal with Macca to reap the rewards in the long term.

Button rumored to have signed for 3 years. could be a wise move.

You know it occurs to me that there may be another reason why RBR hired Dan over jean-eric ... Having a French driver and a German driver is just not a good mix, if Seb gives JEV a funny look he might be prone to waving a white flag and running away thus costing RBR valuable points!

Yeah my jokes do get pretty bad when I'm sick (blasted sinusitis) - I almost threw in Jeremy Clarkson's famous insult but thought better of it.

That's what Stoffel Vandoorne & Kevin Magnussen are doing :) And Button is showing more and more support for Vandoorne these days.

FP 2 Driver Felipe Nasr (not to be confused with Felipe Massa) has been linked with Toro Rosso

I do hear Button often speak about ending his career at mclaren. I feel like that he'll stay there for a management role. So Vandoorne might get a shot if he shows the same signs as hamilton did before 2007.

Well, Button started his own young driver management in late 2012 and Vandoorne is the first guy he signed... So, it's quite plausible.

And obvious, being Belgian, I absolutely hope Vandoorne get's a ride in the near future.

I do hope so too (also Belgian), but I do want to stay realistic. We had Baguette and d'Ambrosio not so long ago as coming talents, but they faded to the background. Vandoorne will both need to show racing genius and needs to have a bit of luck at the same time. If Button vouches for him and is willing to take a step back when the time comes, things will be very much possible.

Unfortunately CNN has a bit of a credability problem when it comes to F1 ... http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=15342

True, but wasn't that article written just for the sake of fun and/or to attract visitors by a woman who wasn't really aware of the technical side? Nothing wrong with that, they corrected the article.

I admit I don't know how credible this person is, I'm just reporting. We'll see in the end :)

McLaren felt that they were left out of Raikkonen circus so they decided to join it now (Whitmarsh Formula1.com interview) . Saying vague "maybe" in the future costs nothing, doesn't it? Also they suddenly remembered they talked in 2012 and NOW decided to share it with the world. What did they talk about? Why didn't they hire him, did they even consider it? Doesn't matter, they talked.

If he really signed somewhere we should learn soon enough, if not from the driver or Ferrari than from Lotus. They can't be making fools of themselves forever and would need a replacement. Ferrari will only say they have plenty of time  .

If it happens I expect them to not be shy about it, come on Eric, at least you are here this time:
"I think there was a lack of management, a lack of guidance from the top management, a lack of clear objective. It's difficult to say, because I don't want to criticize anybody. [...] a driver is a key asset for the team and if the driver is not motivated, not pushing the team enough... because he knew he was moving on.”

“The lack of results was bringing the team down, because they are very devoted - so no results was clearly very demotivating for them. No management to guide the team, and drivers which were not easy to work with, very arrogant and not pushing the team in the right way. That was clearly the main two components of what was wrong,”

That's not something new as Red Bull - IceOne Racing already have ties between them for some time.
