Is there any upgrade package planned for Mercedes in Miami?
They will have something spicy on the engine. They will have even more power from a software modification. Aero not in Miami, after that, but they are very confident to extend the overal gap on the engine ahead of Ferrari until Ferrari will get the third engine late in the summer.
If there's an update, it better be available to all Merc teams with some notice GRRR

Well I suspect it'll be introduced via a new ICE which will be put in both Merc cars in Miami.

Merc customers will need to take another ICE themselves to see the benefits in that instance.

If its software, surely they can update existing units?

If my car can do a software update OTA, the surely an F1 PU can be updated, no?

Perhaps, but I'm going with the previous theme of Merc doing as much as possible to consolidate their own performance first.

With Toto involved the customer teams will be screwed over.

Kimi yesterday at IWC event:

“As we wait until Canada to bring upgrades, teams like Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull, they're going to bring upgrades this weekend already. So it's going to be very interesting to see how we're going to do despite not bringing anything,"

"But if we're ahead is a very good sign because then when we go to Canada and we put the new package in, it can be not so good for the others.”

I wonder if Kimi or George will be sporting the new IWC Space Watch this weekend...

I’m going to have to look that up!

Is this it?

Another quote from Kimi’s media availability today:

“Very exciting to be back here, where I got my first Sprint pole last year. It is going to be a very interesting weekend for us, we are only bringing very small things while other teams are bringing big upgrades."

"Let's see, let's see how we are going to do. For sure they will get closer, so we might have to fight more this weekend."

Sounds like there will be a few track-specific optimization updates.

No sweat. It was a photo with Kimi wearing a white watch that had a band similar to what I looked up and you shared. :)

Seems that the team is confident in the current W17 package for them to just bring a few parts whereas the other teams (particularly Mclaren) are bringing a whole new car.

The team have said they’re bringing their large update to Canada.

If Merc can still hold on edge in Miami without the big upgrade, that’s a sign of the pace they may have in hand.
