Indycar different leage. ALO 100% in his terms. (I think on road courses he will win every race. Even if not, for him and for us it is a good decision. IF he does it, any oficial ? team, engine partner etc? ).
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I think it will somewhat depend on the team whether he could win all road courses; and luck, which he hasn't always had. But, for the championship, it will be interesting to see how well he does on ovals.

I'm not sure whether Sainz was pushed to go because Renault couldn't get solid yes/no on his contract from Red Bull, and so chose to look around (also, not the best season in terms or results) go higher up to Ricciardo who was free, and a proven winner, and that meant Sainz had to step up the discussions he might have had with Alonso already.

Alonso has signed with team Harding a small 1 car team with that uses Chevy engines.
In truth it's gonna be a Mclaren, Andretti operation (Andretti keeps his own team with Honda) with Chevy support.

I question how wise this is over just calling Roger Penske.

Quite a difficult loophole to dodge Honda (because of his Toyota deal?)

Toto must have promised big to Ocon ; preventing him from joining non-merc teams -

I read somewhere that stated F1 drivers usually perform better on the oval tracks when they make the jump for whatever reason, although you'd expect them to be better on the road courses.

Makes sense, at least a bit. Oval racing is more about finding (with the team) the right balance in the car and less about pure wheel to wheel racing. Streetcourses are more like Monaco, it takes a few years to get the rhythm right.

Good move by Carlos imo, if he went back to RedBull he'd get Webber'd for sure.

Alonso going to a small Indy car team is smart, he can learn the tracks and racing culture with minimal pressure and then move to a big team after he's proven himself the following year.

He at least would have gotten a chance at winning a race so man, it must have been a tough decision if he had a choice in the matter anyway.

True, hopefully Maclaren will get their act together next year and he can have a good season.

It's "McLaren" not "Maclaren".

I call Stoffel Vandoorne to redbull, the ideal second driver.
