Money can't buy you happines, but I would much rather be crying in a Bentley, than on the bus.Wazari wrote:Well, just remember money doesn't buy you happiness. Many of us at Honda received company stock every year as part of our year end bonus. Our stock from the early 80's did quite well with one 5:1 split, then another 4:1 split, then another 2:1 split, etc. We all hung on to it, so at least us in the engineering dept did quite well financially but many of my colleagues were not all that happy most of the time. I've been around probably a lot longer than most of you posters and from experience, I can tell you that money can buy a lot of things inc. time, but not happiness.diffuser wrote:I like him too but....It is what it is. I hope for both Jenson and Fernando that next year's car lives up to its potential. I hope for the McLaren-Honda fans it does too. Anyway Happy New Year!!
If that's your take on life then I just have to ask this question.Bomber_Pilot wrote:Money can't buy you happines, but I would much rather be crying in a Bentley, than on the bus.Wazari wrote:Well, just remember money doesn't buy you happiness. Would you be happy talking to someone who couldn't give two shits about you, and is only sitting next to you because you have a Bentley ?
Or would you be happier having a conversation on a bus with someone genuine ?
I'm not aware of ever hearing "money can't buy happiness" uttered from the mouths of anyone who has experienced genuine hardship.Webber2011 wrote: If that's your take on life then I just have to ask this question.

Money can't itself buy happiness. But it can help buy things that can...Gaz. wrote:I'm not aware of ever hearing "money can't buy happiness" uttered from the mouths of anyone who has experienced genuine hardship.Webber2011 wrote: If that's your take on life then I just have to ask this question.

If you have the money to buy a Bentley, and you don't chip in the extra bucks to buy one with a W12 engine then indeed you have reason to be ashamed.Felipe 92 wrote:
I agree with you. I wouldn't be happy in a Bentley sitting next to a supermodel girlfriend knowing that I spent 300 000 € on a Bentley Continental which is based on a VW Phaeton chassis (fancy VW Passat) and has Audi V8 engine. I'd rather drive alone in a bus.
Like a plastic Girl to sit next to you, who will leave in a millisecond for the next bloke who has something shinier ?adrianjordan wrote:Money can't itself buy happiness. lol 5 tenths half second ... whatever!....its a made up guess is what my point is. Ferrari were 3 tenths a lap slower than the silver arrows during the race and about 6 tenths slower in quali.dans79 wrote:giantfan10 wrote:thats what you call fuzzy match... at the conclusion of last season ferrari were .3 tenths behind on race pace... lets just call it .5tenths...the previous poster claims Mercedes will gain .5tenths from somewhere ..where that number comes from only he knows...
All we know at this point is that ferrari reconfigured their engine to shrink their rear end to produce more downforce..that alone in theory should wipe out most of the aero deficit they had to Mercedes....now remains to be seen which team improved their Pu more keeping in mind that conventional wisdoms says ferrari has more room for improvement... we shall soon find out though
for the love of god man get your math right, .5tenths is not the same thing as 0.5 seconds.
very possible.... what scares me with Honda is their reliabilty problems ....turbof1 wrote:Well, not going to make predictions, but it is possible Honda makes a giant leap like Ferrari did in 2015. As long as the issues are obvious and easily fixable in the off-season (but neigh-impossible to fix during the season), one can suddenly find Mclaren fighting consistently for points and perhaps even podium places.
But please, let's not turn this into a mclaren topic! As always, don't follow the example of your misbehaving dicta... er moderator.
