seems like ferrari struggle in twisty tracks logic dictates when spa comes ferrari will have a podium but the F2012 is a confusing car on high downforce tracks it seems to be off the pace regardless of the fact the car is designed to have a clean airflow with the exception of hockenheim i've never seen such an improvement in pace so quickly!! im not a ferrari fan but well done!!
And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

Replace him with Schumacher? 8) :P
No, the traitor left to form Team Germany. Let him sink with them.
Traitor?

Monty forced him out.

I never seen Ferrari fan who called Schumacher a traitor  You should worship him. He came to some lousy Ferrari after winning two championship with Benneton. He turned that lousy Ferrari into the winning team. And you call him a traitor? - and this coming from Renault fan, not Ferrari, not Benneton, but Renault.

I was quite shocked to see a "Tifoso" brand Schumacher as a traitor. Seems some people have short memories.

Regardless of the status of his loyalty or disloyalty, I'm not really that psyched about the prospect of a 44-year-old driver in red, especially when you consider that the mind is the first to go, and he turned off his car today for no good reason.

I don't think there's anything wrong with him, he had a horrid weekend in a dog poop car; nothing more to say really. I don't remember you saying this sort of stuff in the past few races, Monaco a track that is mentally demanding than most and he stuck it on pole (in quali that is).

P.s. my suggestion of Schu joining the reds again was merely a joke. I don't expect him to leave Merc, as I have re-iterated: he's not a quitter.

I don't really think there's anything wrong with him, either. That last bit was just my dry-ass sense of humor.

All the same, this is Alonso's team now, and we've seen in the past that he doesn't always play well with others. The last thing I want to see is fate tempted by the reintroduction of an iconic figure who could easily disrupt whatever flow the team has going for it right now.

Sorry if this belongs in "Silly Season." Giorgio Ascanelli has left Toro Rosso and I think he would make sense at Ferrari: Italian, LOTS of experience, MIGHT have some useful nuggets about Red Bull's technology. Anyone have any word on his current or future status?

The problem for Massa is not really lack of pace. Since Barcelona, his pace has been ok. He has various other problems though. One is that he hardly ever performs when it matters - this weekend was a case in point. He was faster than Alonso in most of practice, Q1 and Q2 yet in Q3, Alonso still got the better of him. Same story in Hockenheim and Silverstone and Barcelona, where he should have qualifed higher but could not perform when it mattered. Add to that he made some mistakes like in Canada and Hockenheim.

Just like in 2010 there are 5 contenders for the drivers championship. This time Raikkonen replacing Button.

The average points scored / race in 2010 was 256/19 = 13.47 (S. Vettel)
The average points scored / race in 2012 (in progress) is 164/11 = 14.90 (F. Alonso)

The above tell us that you can challenge for the championship by scoring only 12 points (4th place) consistently.

Alonso has 40 points lead over Webber with 9 races to go meaning that Alonso can still be in top 3 even after failing to score 1 point in 2 races.

Unlike the 2010 season , the field is condensed giving "chances" to the likes of Maldonado , Rosberg , Grosjean which in certain situations will steal points from those that are in the hunt for Alonso's spot in the championship.

9 races to go with a 40 points lead and the next 2 races are "high speed" like Spa-Francorchamps (Kimi Territory) and Monza. Both of those races should fit the F2012 because the true "advantage" of this car is high-speed corners.

This championship will be decided in the last round and Alonso will be in the fight.

Happy Birthday on Sunday Fernando Alonso!

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

His third birthday and he´s already got two titles. Now that´s impressive :)
The rate of development has been astonishing :)

Did you mean 31st Birthday?

2 at 30 - is good; although I think Vettel might better it before his 30.
Finishing second is being the first one of losers....
