It's not supposed to be funny, but I really wanted to share it and I don't know of any other thread to do so.
The guy you're calling a "moron" is Jochen Mass, one of the best drivers of historics around. He was unfortunate enough to get his foot caught between the pedals and the frame - the instinctive driver in him tried to make the turn (he said afterwards he should have just charged the polystyrene chicane, but hindsight's a wonderful thing) and the car rolled. Jochen was trapped under the car, but quick thinking and action by a following driver called Barrie Baxter got him out.
And yes, he escaped pretty much uninjured. Good to see your concern for his wellbeing
It's a racing car, it was built to be raced. That's what it should do. Broken cars can be fixed - it's often more difficult to fix broken people.
Barrie Baxter received the "Spirit of Goodwood" award for his brave and selfless actions.
