On sky i think they said fia has already been to both hq's and checked the blueprints and didnt find anything then.Manoah2u wrote: ↑12 Jul 2020, 22:37Funniest of it all is that quite frankly, brake ducts are one of the most adaptable parts on the car, so i'm expecting a total clean report here from the FIA. Hell, even if the RP is a 1:1 copy of the Abu Dhabi W10, then all Merc has to do is send an Aussie spec brake duct and we'll get a 'nothing to see here'.LM10 wrote: ↑12 Jul 2020, 22:23What do you mean with “RP have internals from the W10”? It IS the W10.Restomaniac wrote: ↑12 Jul 2020, 21:57So in other words Renault are going to try and prove that RP have internals from the W10. Smart if it’s true as how can RP explain that away?![]()
Matter of fact, Mercedes has a score to settle with FIA over the suspicious FIA & Ferrari secret deal, so i'm inclined to feel that even IF the RP brake duct turns out to be a 1:1 copy, it'll be in both RP and Merc's favour in the end anyway.
It's really a meaningless move from Renault to be honest. RP is not gonna run a carbon copy car if it would get them caught, and Mercedes would not be giving them the blueprints as it would completely destroy their scot-free reputation right now for what?
Is there more to it? Yeah, no doubt about it. Not even a blind person would buy that the RP is just a 'successfull insipration' from the W10, and Mercedes apparant silence on the matter (after all, they aren't sueing RP for copy infringement of any sorts) only adds fuel to the fire. Somehow I think there somebody was given permission to 'randomly' make some USB stick copies from certain computer data, and somehow that same person also ended up at a RP connection. Whether that is actually 'part of the plan' if Mercedes shockingly would be intending to leave the sport and continue in an Aston Martin fashion with RP and TOTO ends up there, is just one of a thousand colourful ideas that can be thrown at it.
But let's be honest here.
this will yield NO result, whatsoever.
Renault can cry all they want, when Mclaren has the same engine but is doing a better job, then you should not be focusing on nifty RP moves, you should work on yourself.
This is just renault being a sad team and probably their funding is ending end of this season with renault cars being in so much trouble needing government funding + no one want to use their engines for next year , time to pull the plug and move on. Ocon being the only technical dnf this race .... shows
