Mercedes W13

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Can we stay on topic? W13 is special - no need to dwell on RB in this part of the forum..
Indeed, no need to drag the Merc vs. RB debate into the Car Thread.

Would've thought that wouldn't show up again after it was addressed or in the process of being as much since test 1.

Seems like they've put skid blocks material on the back edge on the floor. Might mean that they are not going to sacrifice performance for the porpoising

Hamilton's head is aggressively bouncing around, surely not.

Very imaginative and definitely not a very aesthetic solution. Not an unnatural evolution. They are letting floor protrusions and winglets do the flow conditioning instead of sidepods. Will be interesting to see if those two winglets in front of the inlet get banned, they are definitely not aligned with the spirit of regulations, whatever that means
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Is there a CFD underway at all? I know you came under some heat with the last Merc one but I can say the majority of us massively appreciated your work you posted to the forum.
