Does it have anything to do with that old Arrows Team in F1 from the 2000s?
I'm not sure if they even built the MTC? As you have concluded though, they are completely unrelated companies. McLaren after-all is a relatively common surname.mwillems wrote: ↑19 Sep 2021, 08:58I had no idea we had a construction arm, but apparently we are building Aston Martins new HQ

Edit: I don't think they are related. They built our MTC, use orange and have Mclaren in the title, but I don't see any financial links.
What do you mean? Arrows was founded in late 70s, and shortly rebranded to Footwork and back to Arrows again. There is no connection to Arrow electronics, in last 3 seasons Orange was the title sponsor of Arrows.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑19 Sep 2021, 19:30Does it have anything to do with that old Arrows Team in F1 from the 2000s?
The wind tunnel construction is due to be completed towards the end of next year. It will then be a further few months before it is calibrated & proved, with the team expecting to start using it in early 2023

Nothing has really been said about the SIM that I am aware of.
Martin didn't leave us with good memories. So as far as I am concerned, I am glad he isn't back with McLaren
Wasn't he responsible for the mess of hierarchy that Seidl had to fix?
It was absolutely Ron's idea. He wanted to replace Newey's raw talent with sheer numbers in a way. This happened after Newey signed a contract with Jaguar when Ron tried to cut his salary. Ron hired Newey back but diluted his influence with the matrix and the associated mullahs.
