Instanbul Park, Oct 08 - 10
You copied from last year's thread didn't you  I guess with instagram culture being so prevalent, the city's name's gonna turn to Instanbul for real soon.
Fixed to Istanbul. At least for the first and last post, so hopefully from now on as well except for the odd reply. Report or PM otherwise.
I fixed the asphalt as well.

Big question mark on the mclaren they’ve been very competitive at monza and Russia it’d be nice for their form to carry on for the rest of the season though I feel Mercedes and redbull will be back to normal this week

Turkey used to be the Mercedes track in the past wasn’t it?

Who will set which sectors purple in qualifying?
Hmm redbull sectors 1 and 2. Mercedes sector 3. Will 3 be enough to make up for 1 and 2?
W12 could be 0.2s a lap slower. A repeat of Zandvoort if Merc cannot make it up on the straights.
This track is much more open than Zandvoort. I think there will be nothing to choose between them.

Wouldn’t the RB like the last corners in S3? I thought S2 was gonna be on for MCS with S1 and 3 for Red bull.

I see what you mean. It looks like partially S3 for the bulls and part of sector 1 for mercedes. Turn 8 as much it would appear to be Mercedes may well be a redbull turn. Is there a slight camber here?
I think that may require the stability of the raked cars.
For Sure!!

I'm cautiously optimistic for the Ferrari's this race. Track alone looks like the SF21 could do well, and with the engine upgrades, it could surprise.
Hopefully it doesn't rain. The Ferrari hasn't shown pace on inters since Imola. Ever since then they've been underwhelming in the wet(Spa, Sochi). Obviously, given the drivers' skill, this is down to car setup.

Mostly sunny and dry, 20 degrees Celsius.
More like 15 C, and rain showers. Still a week out tho, so neither would surprise me. More info and my view about the subject here.
Thanks for your insights.

I use AccuWeather because I think it's pretty accurate most of the time. It says even 23, 22, 18 degrees for the 3 days now. I see chance of rain has now increased to 55% for Saturday...

lol, RedBull supposedly claims that the GP's after turkey are 'RedBull' tracks (if there's anything like that tbh),
so one may say that it suits Mercedes more. Expecting Mercedes to invest in this weekend, and i think both Ferrari and Mclaren are going to be strong here too.

Going to be very important for Hamilton to get pole position, and then for Bottas to be P2 but you can never count on Valterri when you need him. Merc's best bet now is either Norris in the Mclaren or perhaps Leclerc or Sainz to put a car between him and Max, and then it's all down to getting through the first corners and blasting off.

Manage that and i think Merc can bag turkey. They're gonna need to if they want to build sufficient 'points gap' to Verstappen.

while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

Doubt that. Both RB and Merc have been lobbying for underdog status all year. It would be a change of PR, and stupid, for any team to claim to be favorite.
