lol, RedBull supposedly claims that the GP's after turkey are 'RedBull' tracks (if there's anything like that tbh),
Not sure where you read that. Quote from Horner: "They won in Turkey last year, so they will be strong there."

He says GP's after turkey, so that doesn't include Turkey. :D

Checked the weather on Google, so far it's saying rain for the whole weekend, but it's only around 50-60% precipitation so could be grazing past the track or making a small part of it wet and the rest dryish

I hope they improved the grip of the track with their water blasting. They were really slow last year even in the dry. Come on man, I'm using a keyboard and mouse over here.

The oils should have been released and the tarmac at least cured over the last year or so. It will be vastly improved, but I expect it to be very green still.

Affirm. If anything, it has gone up.

Just a tidbit from personal experience: We've had wind from the NE for over a week now, and according to the forecast, it turns to S/SW on Saturday morning. And that's exactly the type of scenario where it rains in İstanbul.

it's interesting the different reports you get from different services. on Weather Underground, it shows 56% rain chance for Saturday and 66% for Sunday as of right now... BUT, on both days they are expecting only about 1-2mm of rain... that's not much. And interestingly, on Sunday around 3pm-5pm the chance of rain drops down to 20% (increasing again in the evening). Could be another interesting race!

Track management had banned umbrellas for the spectators. They have since made an announcement, removing said ban.

They're anticipating rain.

Unlikely to rain on race day, highest probability of dampness on Saturday. Nice cloudy and cool, if it rains it will be light. May have a damp track but it won't be inter city.

why would one ban umbrellas?

Dunno. Maybe got something to do with a lot of them blocking view for the spectators behind ? Or the possibility that a gust of wind taking one and sending it onto the track ?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/745044

BBC saying very little chance of rain on Sunday. And only rain on saturday being before 9am.
