And we can thank Red Bull for the current situation finally! Without them, Merc will still be cruising to another two titles.
people ignoring and forget Ferrari (including Vettel) the past few seasons and suddenly RBR is 'the' challenger. sure, every bit of 'excitement' is down to RedBull.....

yes sure they're definately competitive and pushing,
but let's not act like 2021 is the first moment ever since 2014 that Mercedes is under threat.
WC points from 2014 on. Mercedes was never under threat by Ferrari.
RBR is the first who are a threat to Mercedes this year.

Vettel
167 278 212 317 320 240 33 35*
Hamilton
384 381 380 363 408 413 347 246,5*
Max
0 49 204 168 249 278 214 244,5*

They was underthreat and the late season meltdown by Vettel doesn't dispove that, so please don't try and deny that Ferrari was challenging through the season.

Ferrari was able to challenge Mercedes, but it failed because too many mistakes were made. If Ferrari came up with an upgrade again, Mercedes simply opened the PU a bit further. They did that to everyone who came near.
They never ran the race at full power, always cruised. This year they can't do that anymore for the first time.

at least 15 hp improvement
perhaps the blue color had a white base, so switching to pure white saves the weight of the blue pigment :D

If Mobil 1 / Esso didn't have its way it would have looked nicer. It's OK. not as Japanesy as I was expecting, but I guess brand visibility trumps all.

Sick livery. they should've made the wing white and it would've been perfect!

Nice! The yellow on the roll hoop spoils it a bit, but it's still very nice. :)

Yup, would've been better without the yellow, but we'll take it. Nice gesture, it's not every powerunit manufacturer that Red Bull would do this for ;-)

It really looks great. Imagine the white bull and the black Star going toe to toe for a full race... Netflix will have some nice scenes for sure

Indeed, where was the special yellow Renault livery!? :(

Do you suppose it remains remarkable that Red Bull would prefer to continue using a power unit whose manufacturer's board has chosen to leave F1 and even build a factory to do so, rather than take take world class Renault F1 power units? :wtf:

I am not sure if you are being serious or not so if you are joking, I apologise.

If you are serious... Then I would say I would not feel I inclined to do anything special for a supplier who delivers sub par products for an extended time. The whole Red Bull vs Renault debacle was terrible and I think both could have handled it with a lot more respect, but I don't see any reason for celebration in that period.

Honda may be leaving but atleast they finally delivered a fantastic product and help Red Bull in achieving their current and future goals by giving all the support needed to keep using and developing said product.

At no point would I call the Renault PU, when used by Red Bull, a world class product to be honest. I do hope they are going to build something great for the new era honestly. Would be fantastic to see Alpine at the front.
