The only thing redbull can do after first practice and bottas engine change strategy is respond quickly and change engine to perez car immediately
Bottas changing his ICE again!?

I read somewhere that is only the 4th, and 5th and subsequent are only 5 places. It does give the option to burn through ICEs though.
Oops! That seems like a dumb rule mistake by the FIA. So you can take a new ICE every week beyond the 4th one as long as you are happy to add 5 grid places (and pay for the ICE, if you are a customer team)? What an oversight!
I guess it was to avoid those horrible situations McLaren and a few others found themselves in a few years ago when their engines kept going bang- but you can see how it could be ‘misused’.

Plus it's Friday and Lewis is still using his practice engine as far as I'm aware.

The Mercedes is just performing better imo.
Hamilton does not have any "old" PU and I am not disputing that second part of your comment.

I will reiterate my first comment: Interesting game of chicken between Mercedes and Honda. Its pretty obvious in my opinion.

That one did a little over 3 race distances. Not what I call old. Certainly not as an argument in this discussion. But if you disagree then that's no problem.

What we are seeing is almost entirely about PU. Not because the Mercedes PU is better, but because Mercedes has decided to go all in and force Honda's hand. Honda is sticking to their own plan and not biting... Yet.

This will tighten up for sure, but it’s quite interesting to see Merc being so aggressive this early on in the weekend.

It’s quite telling when looking at the onboards though that it’s not only engine modes. Max’s balance in S3 looked terrible already on the first flier, so it could be that RB are off with the balance again.

What’s going on with all the cars? Norris with an elbow thing, LeClerc with his pedals, Mazepin with his helmet….

DiResta has mentioned the merc ‘ride height device’ so many times. Obsessed.

A rear suspension. They’ve never seen one before.
