This weekend will be painful to watch. All races since russia have been painful to watch. Ferrari is just running with it now and it's honestly both infuriating and disappointing.

Infuriating because it seems that we can't really do anything about it at this point. They are just miles ahead.

And disappointing because there have been a lot of missed opportunities throughout the season. Be it from bad luck or underperforming drivers.

Totally agree
It will be interesting to see how we reflect on the season as a whole when the dust settles and emotions calm down
Obviously it’ll be an easy summary if Mclaren finish third again with the race win in Monza.
How will we feel if they finish P4 with the win though?
Look no matter what anyone says finishing a place lower than the season before is a disappointment regardless of any implications to wind tunnel time. We are racers and we want to ‘win’ in our battles.

You have to say if Ferrari succeed in finishing third it kinda of all started last season with the signing of Sainz (along with all the other decisions they made to improve their competitiveness) If Sainz drove for Mclaren this season I believe Mclaren would have been home and dry now to third.... BUT (this is for the Ric fans) Ricciardo won in Monza and that was epic- arguably his season has been a success

Apparently Lando had said that since Sochi they now know that Ferrari has a straight line speed ADVANTAGE... Apparently worth several tenths.

Not a small PU upgrade.

Yeah, looks like Mcl are not able to put the power down out of last turn, so they are losing a lot on start/finish straight

Advantage?
So is that a HP advantage over the Mercedes of just a drag level compared to Mclaren?

Or as it’s Lando who is a glass half full guy, is it an advantage over him because he only had worn ICEs? (Obviously that’s not the case now)

P5 P6 in AWS quali analysis, I'd take that. Obviously Lando will not make it.

McLaren look competitive, really close with Ferrari and Alpha Tauri. AT could actually do us a favour if they can get in between Daniel and the 2 Ferraris. Not a complete write off this weekend!

I would assume all of the above are factors. Now he has a new PU perhaps they are closer.

On the Ferrari, apparently there are a few changes to the PU, but what has netted them a lot of time is moving from a 400w electrical system to an 800w electrical system and this is worth a couple of tenths on the straight. That's aside from the time from other changes.

Yea it’s fairly obvious to us that a 800w system is going to be better than a 400w system.
It’s the wrong thread to ask in so let’s keep it brief, do you or anyone else know what wattage Mercedes run?

Why were they even using an old 400w system instead of an 800w system like all the rest?

Also we seemed to be very close in Q3.

In any case whatever happens I still believe the year was a success and we did take another step.\

Seidl though said that we would have to wait till 2023 when the car is a consistent winner but we did take an 1-2 in Monza and missed a back to back due to luck in Sochi. I wonder if the aerodynamic team will be able to do a good job in Winter and produce a car able to win from the get go next year.

For Q1 that was a risky move at the end not to go out when the tarmac evolved.
Q2 ended and the difference is miniscule from a track that supposed to suit Ferrari.
We had the car to beat Ferrari with the upgraded engine. 2 Miliseconds. Tomorrow Daniel will destroy the Ferraris on the start and be in front of them.

Now remains to be seen whether Ricciardo will get absolutely eaten up tomorrow, or will he be able to hold at least one Ferrari up

Good work from the team, a pity that by 2 thousandths Daniel is not ahead of the two Ferraris

I am confident that Daniel with his super starts and his racecraft will be able to be in front of the two Ferraris and then use his better top speed to keep them back.

The way some people on here moan before qualifying, you’d think we’d be 2 seconds of Ferrari and batting the HAAS cars. We could get beat by both cars tomorrow, it’s a possibility, but c’mon guys, give it a rest with the doom and gloom. The fight for P3 is still very much on. Either way, it’s been a great season so far, let’s enjoy the climax, shall we?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.
